Rpgs are not about stats. They are about immersion, skills, story, and purpose. And choice.

All of which are VERY present in Skyrim. This is probably the best rpg ive ever played.

Making a RPG simple enough to make it playable for all CCPs (Console Couch Potatoes) makes me sad....

I guess console gamers are just complete and utter lazy trash(Because sitting on your comfy ass chair hunched over a keyboard is soooooo much better than sitting on a couch to play a game.) who don;t deserve to have fun games. Or anything. We're just garbage.

To the OP: I'm with you but get over it. Bethesda is becoming younger not older so if you don't like the new direction I guess you have to find another game to fill that void. As for me, I think the tons of mods that will be coming will make this game more complete.

stats and story are both part of an rpg.
but i feel like skyrim lacks a bit storywise, they should have made more guilds that exclude each other (like stormcloaks v empire or morrowinds legion vs thieves guild). this wouldve enhanced roleplaying.

Skyrim is only a shdow of the parts before in the RPG sector. Dont get me wrong, its funny and interesting but i miss the hardcoe RPG-elements like i
had in Arena, Daggefall or Morrowind before. I think your biggest problem is your try make it compatible to consoles. WHY for gods sake !?!?!
I want a RPG with more than 3 stats. I want my skills bounds to more than 3 stats. And why in hell have you completly killed some armor parts?
Where are the pauldorns, greaves (or pants) and the other missing parts?!
Making a RPG simple enough to make it playable for all CCPs (Console Couch Potatoes) makes me sad....
And it makes this game more like an Action-Adventure than a RPG.

I hope you will change back to RPG in future parts of this great gameline.

Do you know how many things would not be in the game if there weren't console sales? consoles make up the lionshare of sale's, don't talk rubbish.

In the game you are playing the role of the Dovahkiin, thus = RPG.

As long as the series stays fun to play and keeps the '10 races - any skill you want - open world' formula I couldn't care less what genre the next game is defined as. :shrug:

CCPs? Your attitude towards console players is childish and lame. I have played elder scrolls since daggerfall. First on PC, then xbox for oblivion and skyrim because I don't have a computer to run games on and no money to buy one. And i love playing on console as well. Now if u think u have any more right to enjoy the elder scrolls because ur a PC elitist, u are very much wrong. Not all console players only play cod. And why NOT make it for consoles as well? Its where more and more players are found and believe it or not, bethesda needs more than air and love to make good games, They need money, and the money is in consoles. Keep up with the world.. So yes, the greaves are gone so more NPCs can be on screen at the same time.

Most importantly, RPG stand for role playing game, as Im sure u know. If u ask me this game makes it better than ever to just make deceptions for ur character and thats who your character becomes. Ur character changes his views or wants to get better in anything else, you start working on that and get better. If u ask me this is makes it better for role playing than ever before..

When it comes to stats, they are still there under the surface. The ones that matter that is! They tossed out the useless ones and kept the good ones. I RP better then ever before. Love the older games, love this one.

Correction, English isn't his first language and he doesn't speak it well.. I don't consider Americans, Brits, or Aussies with terrible grammar to speak English. You on the other hand, speak it very well.

RPG = Role Playing Game. I am currently roleplaying a Nordic Battlemage that is going around slaying dragons.

In RDR I was roleplaying an ex-outlaw hunting down gang members.

Playing the role of someone/something =/= an RPG.

last time I checked, skyrim had stats. And a story.
Bethesda got rid of the utterly pointless stats and kept the ones that mattered. And it was a great change.

If you disagree, you're simply in denial. Skyrims system is superb.

If Skyrim isn't an RPG, how am I RPing better than any tes game? Because I am, and loving it.

i play on 360 and i think tes should be more like mw3 or halo. no stupid stats, no books (i hate them), no talking or at least be able to hit something while talkin + multiplayer deathmatch. and dont make tes for pc anymore i cant stand those whiners. who needs mods anyway, if you dont think theres enough content go play some other gemas theres enough
