Skyrim is not working for me

Post » Sun Nov 10, 2013 11:46 pm

Hello, ive been having an issue for past 24 hours with starting up skyrim. little prior to me installing workshop mods from steam i was hit with an unexpected back to desktop. I have done a clean install, tried to run it and keeps doing it. I dont know if theres supposed to be skyrim.esm file in data files when launcher comes up. this is really making me mad. Ive done Verifying Integrity of the files like ten million times. i would love to play skyrim but i cant seem to get passed this error

if anyone has any ideas on how to fix this please send me an invite on steam at xxrawrxx949

I am now trying to install into a new steam library too see if that works. i am hoping that something or someone will help me fix tis :(

Sounds like a mod issue (missing master), I am not sure how Steam works .... Can you uninstall / deactivate these mods and start a new game without CTD's?

Post your mod load order.

You might try unsubscribing from any mods that you have previously used in the Steam workshop (at least temporarily). I heard about other people getting CTDs or other errors recently due to mods that where taken off of Steam (the Unofficial Patches are one example). I can't guarantee that this has anything to do with your problem, but it's just another idea.

You can go into the Steam Workshop, find the mod, and unsubscribe from it pretty much the same way you got it in the first place.

You can also deactivate the mod by loading Skyrim, choosing "Data Files" and removing the check box next to the mod's name. This won't prevent Steam from updating the mod, but will deactivate it without deleting it in case you just want it off for a moment.

What if you play offline (so, steam offline mode) and try to launch your game via SkyrimLauncher.exe (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Skyrim)

Try to remove the entire program AVG Security Toolbar or AVG Technologies using Windows Control Panel...

or you could go to: [Windows key] (flag) next to [Ctrl] key - type at "Search Programs and files", regedit.

see Registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

-----and------

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

delete vprot.exe at the right panel.
