Skyrim physics

Will Skyrim have the same not so good ragdoll physics from oblivion or would it be more refined?

From what I saw in the E3 demo, when the dragon throws the giant, it seemed pretty bad to me as the giant was just floating in mid-air slowly descending down with very little movement in his arms or legs.

What are you're thoughts in this? I would have really liked if they went for something like GTA 4's euphoria engine at least when falling from the sky which I'm sure will be a big part of Skyrim.

Giant physics have been tweaked. It was better in the QuakeCon demo. Best physics I've ever seen.

There are no cloth physics, so I can't share that statement, but I expect them to be pretty decent. And that at least there won't be things like objects that go poltergeist when you put them inside a display case, or stuff floating several inches from the table, or that dissapear under the floor, amongst other things...

I wouldnt go that far. There are no hair physics, no cloth physics, scripted environmental destruction, etc. The physics seem to be the same as they were in Oblivion to be honest with maybe a few tweaks to the moon gravity.

Dragonborn1 is right, they have significantly improved since the E3 demo, thanks. I hope that if you push someone down a mountain they actually realisitically tumble around instead of just look like they are getting dragged by a wire at the bottom of the hill.

I dont think they have. I think we are just seeing a 'take two' of the same ragdoll physics. Every single time that giant is picked up and killed by the dragon its going to fall in different ways. It doesnt mean its using different ragdoll physics.

I just hope bodies have more wait behind them i hated it in OB when they floated to the ground gently when they fell from a high place.

Thanks. I'm very happy to see the physics improve as much as they have. Definitely the best in the business. Seeing someone stumble down a mountain will look awesome I bet haha.

What I meant to say was they improved from the demo at least, because I thought the e3 physics were final. Oh well a small price to pay for being dovahkiin.
