I was playing Oblivion today and I was up north at Bruma when a thought occured. How can Skyrim have multiple varied environments (e.g forests and craggy areas) when the northmost point in Oblivion is covered in snow? I mean, what? Surely the environment has to be even snowier over into Skyrim. I am assuming that the South most area in Skyrim will be the least snow covered, but this implies that the environment has gotten warmer as you have moved even further northwards from
Bruma.

Has anyone else though the same?

It's probably the elevation, The Himalayas are all permanently covered in snow, yet 50 miles North is a massive desert, 50 miles South and it's tropical conditions. I would imagine only the mountainous or extreme North would be snowy regularly.

Elevation effect temperature, also Skyrim isn't the north pole of Nirn, and modern science doesn't entirely apply in the world of Elder Scrolls.
