Personally, it sounds like his mind was made up well before Skyrim was announced, which I guess I can't fault, since my mind was made up too!

Still though, it's hard to really take anyone seriously when they say "Move backwards and swing", in not so harsh words, isn't that just "Dodge and attack"?

Guy sounds like a whiny baby. Most of the complainers seem to be nitpicking too hard for me to handle. Not only that, but most of these guys who played it for ten [censored] minutes seem as if though they could have done a better job themselves designing the game.

I dont really have much comment to him....
He doesnt talk about those three little "nigglings" that he had doubt about ( i think combat was one of them though) and just persists that he fears that he is right.

I read his other articles. Guy's a hardcoe graphics hog, pc elitist. Think that explains why he thought the Xbox looked so horrible.

Like Criminal_Scum said, the previewer seemed to jump to conclusions based on his opinions prior. Was very boring to read too, he just dragged on, brief, but still boring. Thanks anyway, tgl.

He talks about his fears for a game he spent 10 minutes on.. Not only that but he has to mention Fable in the same article as TES? Yeah, totally a good comparison.. It's not like Fable has flopped so hard they are doing crappy Kinect games now. Oh wait.

I'd be so bold as to declare he's trying to pull a "Me against the world" Troll as well. Since the press is so overwhelmingly stacked on one side in Favor of Skyrim's play. It's a tactic a lot of "Up and coming" bloggers/amateur writers use to gain more hits, and thus more attention from talent prospectors. If I remember correctly, that's how Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw got picked up by the escapist. Vehemently bashing one of the single-most acclaimed Xbox games. Granted, he actually has talent as a writer.

The internet has a few drawbacks.

One of the biggest ones is that anyone with enough money to pay for a domain name becomes a "journalist". This guy clearly isn't a professional, and I take pretty much everything he says with a grain of salt the size of the Empire State Building.

If it's popular it can't be good, right?

I hate that mentality. I still believe that's where a lot of Daggerfall support comes from too. Being part of that "Elite Group" Before the console flood, but what do I know, I came to the series with Morrowind and went back to play Daggerfall.

He didn't complain about the big screen, he was complaining about how the big screen further emphasized how bad the console graphics were.

That aside, I completely disagree with his attitude and think he's got some personal problems he needs sorted out before he shares his opinions to the public o.o;

I don't know anything about this guy or if he has some kind of vendetta against TES, but I won't begrudge him his opinion. I've played Skyrim for exactly zero minutes, he's spent 10 minutes playing it. I tend to believe him that combat hasn't changed much since Oblivion - I don't remember reading any previews that said how new and revolutionary it was.

I'm sure the added dimension of dual-wielding and flamethrower attacks helps, but I would bet aside from that combat isn't the best it could be.

And before console guys get bitter at his "ugly" comment - just about anything being played on a huge monitor up close won't look all that great, especially if it's only 720p (or upscaled to 720p).

Sounds like someone's getting out of his pram because he was only given 10 mins of playtime when most of the other journo's had way longer.

Oh well, never mind. :banghead:

Confirmed!

Not sure what to make of it. I was a PC user in MW and OB but my PC crapped out before I was done with OB, so I got it on the 360. I hated it at first and shunned the graphics, but after awhile I decided that I liked it much better on the console (I know I'm in the minorty). The controls were sluggish at first and I couldn't do anything with the controller that I can do with a mouse, but now I can and I still think the graphics are nice in OB. I think these journalists need 8-10 hours of playtime to make a decision on the game. Personally I don't care, I believe it will be great and can't wait until 11/11/11. :tes:
