Skyrim on "Project Cafe"

Post » Thu Nov 11, 2010 2:38 pm

At this point, nintendo doesn't even deserve Skyrim. They're so far behind software wise. Too busy making family-fun games to make any decent adventure games or shooters in the last couple years, let alone RPGs.

It's certainly more powerful because it is supposed to output games at 1920x1080 resolution

Xbox and PS3 are limited to 1280x720 resolution

If that in most cases. The industry and my eyes definitely need new consoles right naow! I love them but they are really outdated. Can't wait to see what Nintendo does with this and I don't even like Nintendo.

If it can handle it, why the hell not?

I mean, I'm buying one (mostly so I can play Zelda), and I have a PS3 and a PC, so either way I'll be able to play Skyrim, but if Nintendo has finally gotten with the program and has a console that developers DON'T exclusively use for shovelware, then I say it's a good thing.

Who knows, if it does well enough, Bethesda might finally be convinced to make a Daggerfall port/remake for the DS.

Who's to say that this new console is more powerful then the PS3. I find that hard to believe.

You find it hard to believe that 2012 hardware can be more powerful than 2006 hardware?

If it was any other company I would say yes but it's nintendo, their last couple of consoles have been really crappy. Heck they never should've moved away from the N64 type model.

Bethesda has been around since 1986 and they have NEVER released an ELDER SCROLLS game on ANY Nintendo console (NES, Game Boy, SNES, Virtual Boy, N64, GameCube, NDS, Wii). Call me crazy, but I don't see it happening with Project Cafe.

Funny

2006:

Bethesda has been around since 1986 and they have NEVER released an ELDER SCROLLS game on ANY Sony console (PSX, PSP, PS2). Call me crazy, but I don't see it happening with PS3.

*E3 2006 comes*

Oh crap!

Bethesda released neither Oblivion nor Fallout 3 for the Wii, so...

I agree with you, but their main target audience is anything but hardcoe fans at this point. I own a Wii too, but I only play it when my son wants to watch me, because he loves their games. The xbox has a lot of casual games too, but they are more focused on regular gamers. The Wii gets more people who wouldn't buy and xbox or ps3, but would buy a Wii because it's come to the point were everyones got a Wii! I'd just rather see nintendo tryto get more mature gamer types, other then those casual non gamers and nostalgia die hards.

I agree. We'll see if Nintendo can manage attract more third party developers (like Bethesda) to make more mature titles for their new console...

Can I live in your world one day?
A place where technology moves backwards and ponies leave a trail of rainbows behind them.
It would take more effort on Nintendos part to have parts custom built to be worse than current hardware.

Honestly, come on now.

The GameCube was more powerful than the PS2 and about the same as an Xbox. It's only with the Wii that they aimed it a the "casual" (hate that word) market and actually surprisingly made a killing out of it.

ponies leave a trail of rainbows behind them.

What that doesn't happen to anyone else?

The little Nintendo consoles can't handle the epicness that is a TES game.

This. Maybe not in raw processing power, but if this is another motion control system, I doubt Skyrim will support it. Also, Nintendo tends to keep within themselves and not deal with third-party game developers.

So... it'll be as powerful as something that came out in 2005?

Great job Nintendo

I don't think he got that right.

From what I've read, it'll more powerful than anything else on the market.

I've read about a little speculation on this, but haven't seen an actual topic dedicated to it.

Probably should've searched slightly better

I originally searched for "Project Cafe" and "Cafe" and didn't find any good results. I should have searched for "Nintendo" and "New Console" as well...

Nintendo hasn't been in my house since the NES. PC is just better.
