Skyrim: PS3 version

Post » Fri Dec 09, 2011 6:19 pm

I'm hoping someone help me understand something. I called Bethesda Support TWICE today and got some what similar but different answers about the burlap-like map that was said to be included in all pre-order versions of the game. From what I understood from Bethesda's blog post was that anyone who pre-oredered the game was to get this burlap-like map included with their copy regardless of ordering that standard or CE version. After talking to support I come to find out that all the standard PS3 version did not come with the "premium" map. However the PS3 CE version and both versions for PC and Xbox came with the "premium" map. What I want to know is are they right or am I getting screwed over on another game by Bethesda?

BTW I'm not mistaken about the type of map I recieved it's a high gloss, paper map comparable to what a magizine would be printed on.

Nope. Whether you got it or not depends on who you ordered from, not every retailer was including the pre-order map.

It's not burlap-like.

It's a textured paper.

But as you describe your map as high-gloss magazine paper, I would say that we have two different maps...

I also have the PS3 version (pre-ordered) and my map see,s like yours, OP. It's no higher quality than Oblivion's map.

So was GameStop one of those retailers who were to have this "premium" map? Because that is who I pre-ordered through, I want to know so I decide wether to put more pressure Beth support and demand the map or if I simply made an error in where I purchased.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who feels cheated out of something they expected to get.

I preordered mine from Gamestop 6 hours before release, and I got the premium map.. it's very nice. So I think GameStop, BestBuy, and Walmart has it. I'm in the US.

I did not get it. I ordered my husband's XBOX version and my PS3 version in MARCH! He got the premium map and I did not. It wasn't worth a trip back to Gamestop to complain, but just for the record, I did not get it.

I walked into Gamestop at 12:02am on release day (never pre-ordered)... waited in a line for only about 2-5 min. Bought the PS3 version... and went home.
Opened the game and it had the map inside.
Pretty stoked. Didn't pre-order... didn't ask for a particular version of game (other than PS3)... and got the map.
Sorry you didn't. Is pretty cool, and yes... just textured paper but comes in handy sometimes.

The "special" map that you were looking to get is nothing special. Think back to when you were a kid im kindergarten, do you remember that construction paper you used to use to make a bunch of weird crafts? That all this "Super premium ultra deluxe special edition burlap smooth amazing" map is. It's thick paper, that's it. Every time I open it I feel like the fold corners are gonna blow out and rip. It's very low quality.

I bought my xbox version at Best Buy on launch day (not pre-ordered) and I got the special map. I was pretty surprised and happy =)

I got the Burlap map and I never realised it was a special. Check your dealer rather than Bethesda

Well, I just gave my brother his copy that I bought for him (a late birthday gift if you will) and guess what has inside his copy of the game? A premium map. First thing Friday I'll be calling Bethesda's support people and demand that they send me a premium map. I pre-ordered their game I want my map!
