SKYRIM TO PS4?

Post » Sat May 03, 2014 1:29 am

I think that Skyrim needs to be rebooted and moved to PS4, like take the PC version due to its already higher graphics and what not, and just import it to the PS4, this would be awesome, and i would definitely rebuy the game if they were to do this!!

No. Bethesda has more important things to do. Like focus on Fallout 4 and the next Elder Scrolls.

Why should it be ported to PS4? What's the benefit?

This thread resurfaces every month. I really hope Bethesda announces their next project soon so people can stop suggesting they work on Skyrim again.

Well in my opinion ESO was a fluke, to expensive, and sky rim was the best in the series in my opinion

Yeah, they announced over a year ago already that they're moving on. It's time to let go.

And I haven't still heard a single proper reason why it should be ported.

No, No, and No.

Bethesda is done with Skyrim and won't be looking back on it... Abandoning M'aiq in the dark (until TESVI)...

Compared to the PS3? Faster loading times, better textures, higher resolution, higher framerate and probably more stable thanks to the more available RAM.

Honestly i don't care how anyone else feels about it, i thought the game itself was fun, and i would enjoy it on the ps4. Yes i am new on here, but thats only because i don't usually do forums unless its for PS MVP, or battlefield, so ya maybe this has come up a lot before, but i put in my own opinion, you don't have to like it, but don't comment just to hate on an idea.

Maybe so. However I was asking more like what's the point porting it now. Skyrim is already 2.5 years old game. I seriously doubt there's enough demand for PS4-version to cover costs. Besides one can buy PC-version (which would still be superior compared to theoretical PS4-version) for next to nothing already.

Yes, but for that you have to have a pc that can run it, in which i do not, as well as a lot of the guys i play online with, because we stick to console gaming, i understand what you are getting at, it was just a suggestion, due to the disappointment with ESO, if it wasn't so expensive, then a lot more people would get it, i know that when it is on PS4 there is a lot of people i know that will not get it simply due to the monthly cost

Sticking to console gaming means you will miss out a lot of greatness.

ESO is not on the consoles yet as far as I know.

If you can run ESO on the PC than you can run Skyrim on the PC or use the PS3 or Xbox 360 to play.

ESO is not really a TES game. It is a MMO that takes place in the TES world.

I don't have ESO, i have just a macbook pro, that i use for editing for my youtube, but and ESO isn't on console yet, but the price per month to play is not worth the game, so it is a let down for those of us who can't afford to dish out the money for the game every month

Okay, here's a reason not to want them to do it (aside from the fact that it's pointless because they *aren't going to*): if they put time into doing that, it would be even longer until the next NEW game is ready.

I get they won't do this, but if they did, they would make more money, just like how The last of us has just been re done for the PS4, and the next new game they make is already going to take a while to come out

not necessarily, most people who already own the game would not repurchase it simply because "OMG, re-release for new console!", when they already own it on PC and/or their last gen console

The only times re-releases and ports really make a decent profit is when the game is at least 6 years old, it has become very hard to find a copy of, or is a "cult classic"".. Skyrim fits none of these criteria

ok, but like i said The Last of Us came out last year, and they are rebooting it, same as the Tomb Raider game, and if people don't have a pc version then yes they might want to get it again

reason the Last of Us and Tomb Raider remasters sold is because they included all the DLCs, allowing those who were picking up the game late to get everything

such a version has already existed for quite awhile with Skyrim, the Legendary Edition

While I'd like Skyrim to be out for the new consoles, I would rather have Beth working on their titles without distractions.

Yes the legendary edition, which came out on ps3, which would have been something they could have waited and released on ps4, so again i get they are not doing this, i just said i think it would be cool, because the game would play a lot better

Be pretty annoying for Skyrim players who only have a PS3, though! I suspect that would have upset a lot more people than it pleased.

why would it upset ps3 players, its not like ps4 players would be getting anything added that you don't have, it would just look better, and play smoother, and at that you could trade in toward a ps4 since price just dropped

Right, I misread, thought you were saying instead of it being on PS3. Bedtime for me, I think!
