skyrim remaster could have more content,no?

Post » Sat Jul 16, 2016 1:39 am

Skyrim has a lot of npcs, places, quests, choices, weapons, clothes, armors, powers, etc that got removed from the game and some of these things can be accessible using the console command in the PC version, but why bethesda dont add or make these things accessible offically in the skyrim remaster, even new enemies could be added.

Lets be honest who doesnt want to kill maven black briar and delphine and esbern, who doesnt want to have the ancient falmer armor complete with the crown without having to cheat, who doesnt want to see that wintersand manor place that nazeem has a key for and the list goes on an on. A lot of people would say about mods, but something official would be more awesome, like npcs, guards, etc reacting to those events and commenting about it with you and these deaths or choices or whatever effecting skyrim in some way, same goes for new weapons and armors(like guards talking about the mace of molag bal or dragon armor when you have them equipped).

There are valid reasons BGS pulled them in the first place, though perhaps some of the reasons are now moot with the extra processing power of the new consoles. I'd be real surprised though if anything beyond some typo error correcting on the coding is done, certainly they will not be trying to resurrect cut quests or features that require extra development. This is a re-mastered "special edition", not a re-edited "Director's Cut" if you will. The enhancements promoted are visual not new content per se. Most of BGS is already hard at work on the next IP, rumored to be "Starfield".

There's one rumor on the internet that Bethesda Game Studios will offer more for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition than they are letting us know.

To me it would make sense not to spoil us.

To not spoil me I would just like to start The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition and see that Bethesda Game Studios released for sale one last expansion pack with the conclusion of the Civil War where we can go to the Summerset Isles and fight the Thalmor or side with them depending on the situations. And elect a High King or a High Queen or both.

That's my dream.

Ballowers100: If you want to take my advice, don't keep high hopes, don't get overhyped, stick to what they've told and only.

If they decide to do something more, that's good of them -if not, you still got what you was promised anyway.

Ditto.

While I would hope (using that term loosely here) there is more content, I'm not expecting any.

I would love more content as well but I take that as bonus content.

Aye. Would be nice if BGS would complete their original vision of Skyrm, completing all the extra content they had to axe for the early release. I'm not holding my breath though as it's pretty well except they're done with Skyrim at this point (no new content)

The only thing that has me thinking they're going to do more than simply updating the graphics is that the release date is relatively far away. SSE doesn't drop until October. From now, that's still another 3 Months down the road. Why? Have they not finished yet? If not, then why announce it? How long does it take? If they're indeed adding content, it would make sense for the wait time. Either that, or they have something planned in the time frame. Or maybe there's some legal jargon or another going on, who knows.

But let's cross our fingers they're expanding the game.

Logistics takes time. You have to make the game cases, ship them out, make deals with all the retailers and so on.

When I was in the Marine Corps we used to say that amateurs attack and professionals practice logistics. Same thing with a private company making a product.

I hope so too, but I wouldn't consider 3 months long enough to do proper quality assurance testing when adding new content. At least any content of relatively good size. Best we might hope for is that this new 64-bit compilation of the game serves as a basis for BGS to get back to and making content for again after-all. Although I'm thinking that's less likely since mods will take care of most of that. I would rather have official content, but mods are a great alternative.

Have you seen the condition of the Bethesda.net site, where they're handling the Fallout4 console mods? I'd say they're hoping to have ironed out the difficulties with that website before adding another title to it.

So, no more news about SSE? Any leaked info? I was wondering if the wet effect that is already present in Fallout 4 is going to be implemented. I've found an interesting video about how we should expect SSE to be (more or less) but it doesn't clarify for sure if that effect will be present.

Here's the link, watch it because the dude is quite smart and makes some good observations and predictions.

Thanks for the video. If Skyrim will look like this video footage, I am more than satisfied with that result.

Nice job Sybelius. :goodjob:

I'm not giving up.

Gstaff said in that article from Bethblog.com back in April of 2013 that Bethesda Game Studios will never truly leave or abandon The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

As new DLCs concerns, well...it seems that will not be the case.

First off, according to Pete Hines:

The remaster looks great, and like one of the most thorough and extensive ones that we have seen yet- which is something Bethesda reiterated on Twitter recently,

when Pete Hines pointed out that a ton of effort goes into remastering a game of this size and scope so thoroughly for new hardware.

https://twitter.com/DCDeacon/status/751473052504977408

Also:

Hines also confirmed something that we have already known for a while- that while Skyrim Special Edition will launch with all the DLC that was already released for the original Skyrim,

there will be no new DLC for the game.

Which is fine, because the inclusion of mods, now available to console players for the first time, should hopefully keep a steady stream of new content coming.

https://twitter.com/DCDeacon/status/751476844407422976

As for those mods, Hines has confirmed that there is discussion ongoing to make the Creation Kit for the new game available before the game itself launches,

but that nothing has been decided yet.

Well, Hines answered that actually there aren't new dlcs or new material implemented in SSE, but that doesn't mean that in the future Bethesda is not going to add paid content.

Take in consideration that Todd Howard said that ES VI is very far away, so for ES fans no new material means a lot to wait. Even if Bethesda has 2 new projects in progress, in my opinion it is a pure waste of opportunity to deny any new content in the years to come. Why not using the 64bit version of Skyrim for more cashgrab?

What an incredible waste of potential!

Well, i thing that relies on Bethesda's hands.

That needs time and effort, and as they are working already on those two new projects, i don't know if Beth will go that way.

But as mods will be present on each platform this time, i don't know if that makes much sense - as Mods can fill this gap very easily, i guess...

However, I wouldn't have problem with that, if Beth has in mind to make something new with Skyrim in the feature.

And i thing TES VI is far away, because Beth has in mind to try something new. (according to Todd Howard)

That means maybe a new game engine, so maybe a Creation Engine 2?

I absolutely believe Bethesda Game Studios has in mind to develop at least one last expansion pack to sell for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition.

I believe Gstaff when he wrote that article on Betheblog back in April of 2013 when he said that Bethesda Game Studios will never leave The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Remastering The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and giving us PC gamers a 64-bit upgrade for free is proof to me, but also because they ported it to the Xbox One to get familiar with it and not letting the port go to waste.

Well i would like that the game be released on PC along with CK a week before official date so that by the time game officially launches we will have quite a few mods already ported to it. week would be enough for modders to port their mods, figure out what's currently wrong and what more could be done to make their mod ready for remastered skyrim also lets admit it porting mods won't be like just saving your mod in new CK to be quite honest it will require some work.

I'll never get tired of saying that I strongly prefer official content to any kind of mods (and I use them, I can assure you!). Mods are often not much lore friendly, unstable, and clash with each other, and these are the main reasons for my preferences.
