Skyrim Remaster Mods (not a duplicate)

Post » Thu Jun 30, 2016 2:44 am

I have a question, because I am someone who is not familiar nor has ever used mods.

When I heard the announcment of Skyrim remaster with mods.. I was overly excited like I'm sure most of you are.

My question is though, will the mods that are on nexus, be the mods we'll have on console?.. Or, do consoles just get new mods? Thanks (:

The mods will have to be uploaded to Bethesda.net. It all depends on what the mod authors decide to upload.

Most mods will be compatible, and should be pretty easy for the author to port over. Other mods will be impossible (due to requiring the Skyrim Script Extender). Other mods may not be ported over for other reasons...they may have textures that are too high resolution, and would tank the FPS on a console. Or they may be mods that are simply too large (I believe the limit is 2GB for Bethesda.net).

Some mod authors have disappeared, so they may not be around to port and upload their old mods.

But don't worry or be disappointed! There will be a large variety of different mods, and you will have a fantastic time modding Skyrim. More mods will be created, some specifically with consoles in mind, I am sure.

Have fun modding in November! :-)
