Is Skyrim Remastered going to be specced for PS4 Neo?

Post » Wed Sep 14, 2016 1:18 pm

Ive heard that PS4 Neo might be coming out this fall and that Sony was making developers releasing titles around October or later PS4 Neo compatable. Anyone know if the remaster will support the more robust capabilities of the Neo?

Neither Bethesda or Sony said anything about PS4 Neo.

That depends most likely on the collaboration from Bethesda with Sony about that matter.

Even so, every game released so far, will be playable on the PS4 and the PS4 Neo as well.

I guess Bethesda cant really say one way or the other until Sony confirms it's release date of the Neo. It sure would be nice to play Skyrim with the full capabilities of that new hardware.

I'm pretty sure they already know that. But of course they wouldn't tell anything, as It's top secret.

That's how those things works, anyway...

I guess the PS4 will hit the market middle October, with a huge possibility that Sony will release the console the same day with the VR.

Also i believe the price will be near to 400 bucks.

However, I don't have a clue for the price of the new PS4 Slim.

That would make sense because Bethesda isn't about jumping the gun on a system their not familiar with and it would be risky just to come out and say that they would and than not be able to, and have Sony fans upset about it. Bethesda already has enough trouble with Fallout 4 updates on the PS4 as it is.

Ok so now we know that the PS4 Pro will be released 2 weeks after Skyrim SE.

My foolish decision to preorder today Sony's new system was an emotional choice mostly based on the hope to have an upgraded version of Skyrim SE that would take advantage of the Pro... I'm not talking of 4K (I don't even have a 4K TV), but just having the game running at 60fps in 1080p with the same (or higher) level of details showed in the trailer would be a dream for me.

Hope to hear some details from Bethesda soon, to know if it will worth waiting for a PS4 Pro patch before starting a new run !

Nobody knows only Zenimax Media Inc., Bethesda Softworks, and Bethesda Game Studios only knows.

I sure do hope the PC version of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition also gets another graphical upgrade then. or at least a even bigger one once MicroSoft releases Xbox Scorpio for sale.

I won't get to watch the Sony event until later today, but I've heard that Skyrim will indeed take advantage of the Pro spec bump in some way.

I sure as heck hope I can still play it on my PS4. If it's specced only for the new console, I'm gonna be really mad.

Yeah from what I understand the games that are specced for the PS4 Pro will be like how PC games have different graphics settings. You will have no problem playing the game still and it still should look awesome.

On a side note, I originally posted this thread months ago and nobody said anything, and now that the PS4 Pro and Skyrim Remaster are launching within a few weeks of each other people are all titillated. I hope Bethesda confirms one way or the other soon.

Bethesda announced yesterday that ESO will take advantage of the PS4 Pro as soon the console will be available, so we may have a chance to get the same thing for Skyrim SE !

Different developers though. BGS has SSE and FO4 to worry about if they spec up to the Pro. ZOS only has 1 game to worry about.

Apparently at the PlayStation (PS) Asia conference The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition is listed as also getting support for PlayStation 4 (PS4) Pro.

I really hope the PC version of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition on PC also gets a much more massive graphical upgrade than just DirectX 11 support, improved snow shaders, and volumetric godrays.

I hope it gets support for Physically Based Rendering (PBR) and much more that was not shown off in the YouTube video with Todd Howard.

Some will, those that aren't interested in buying in to the PC or Xbox ecosystem, perhaps. I do, in fact, and I have both consoles. My first trip back Skyrim for eighteen months so I'm not interested in modding the game. So if the Pro offers a nice graphical buff to Skyrim SE then it'll be worth the price of admission for a four hundred hour play through.

Correct, new games will have PS4 pro settings, this will be higher framerate and / or resolution, also high dynamic range. Many older games get this settings added, I guess Fallout 4 will run at 60 hz on pro.

However this has to be added by developer and Sony.

Its nothing new for pc players, however console players escapes the fun of having Oblivion setting to minimum setting as the graphic card generation is newer than Oblivion.

This is fixed in later games but still.

can we please not turn every thread into "ohh no, no mods!"..

you may be upset, and I can sorta understand that.. but bringing it up everywhere, especially when the topic at hand has nothing to do with mods sounds a bit like a kid upset because his parents didn't buy him a new lego set..

Yes, I was a bit reactive 10 hours ago when the news was fresh. But on the threads that do deal with it, excuse me for my pessimism. I guess it's my answer when others try to invalidate those feelings on the threads meant for it.

But hey, thread jumping: welcome to Bethesda Forums.

so?

do you see any refernce to mods in the OP? believe it or not, people can choose their console of choice based off of more than just if it has mods.. this topic has nothing to do with mods

EDIT: Rick, as your sig says, you play on the 360.. did its lack of mods prevent you from enjoying the game? it sure doesn't seem to have

Ha! After some 12,000 hours over nearly six years.....I NEED something to freshen it up.

So I will be getting XB1 to play SSE.....with mods!

My issue is on behalf of my son....who made his Xmas pressie...console choice...the PS4, after Bethesda made such a firm committment to mods on playstation! We BOTH desperately want those mods....but now....he can't get them.

I might have waited for PS Neo.....but without modding for Skyrim.....its dead to me!

well then, complain in the threads actually about mods on the platform, don't derail a thread that has NOTHING to do with mods just because your ticked off

I wasn't derailing......my last post Was answering you.....and all I had done was make a tongue in cheek chuckaway comment....you could have left it alone instead of making a silly issue of it

And since the thread is about "if SSE will be speced for the Neo" It might reasonable to wonder if the uprated Neo might not put mods back on the table......but my chagrin means I won't get it anyways.

But thank you for moderating me....I look forward to returning the compliment idc....friend :)
