Official reviews are most of the time higher than what the players give, so 8-9 for magazine, and 7-8 for players. My opinion of the current state is 'disappointed,' but Skyrim is not doomed yet, as there are many details still not revealed to us yet.

Don't see how this matters. It changes nothing about anything, and is rather pointless to talk about. The only real thing worth talking about is what we think so far, but there are threads for that already.

If this game gets anything lower than 9 from both gamers and reviewers, I shall officially stop all my gambling activities.

I would try to argue that you can’t rate a game until you played it but people will still say they are disappointed about it already so I can’t be asked.

As for the topic, I guess the same, magazines would prob rate higher than players will (cuz we are fussy bunch*) :D

I put, 10 as it is a great series, massive landscape and has never really failed when it came to lore.. It is one of the most richest lore I've ever seen in a RPG, and gamesas always delivers in some way or another. I put 8-9 for the players opinion as players here are crazily negative sometimes.. And everyone seems to want spears... :violin: Also at the moment I think Skyrim looks to be kicking ass, alot has improved since Oblivion from what I can see, from Graphics to AI, especially AI..

I'm a PC gamer, is disappointed that we have yet to see a PC-orientated interface, or details on how it would run on a PC. Too many console news makes me grumpy.

1.) 9-10

Skyrim will be a shocker and a jaw dropper, but I can hardly imagine it being 100% perfect.

2.) 9-10

As I said,hardly 100% perfect.

3.) If I didn't think they are doing a good job I wouldn't be here. :)

Keep it up Bethesda,we the people salute you, haha. :P

9-10 from zines. Hard to see anything else happening. Skyrim will be too much like Oblivion, just better in all major respects, to not get high scores from the zines. The only wildcard is whether PC-oriented zines penalise Skyrim for not having the "latest and greatest" graphics. Other things like no spellmaking aren't going to be such a big deal to the popular gaming press.

As for gamers, well, there seems to such a wide variety of opinion about the information we've received so far, that I can foresee scores (with reasonable argument to back them up) ranging between 5 and 10.

I'd say the official reviews will likely be between 9 to 10, out of a 1 to 10 scale at the least, the lowest we might see from most sources, I simply can't see Skyrim getting a negative review on average from professional critics. Player reviews will likely be a little bit more varied, and the average score may be lower, but I expect it to, overall, be favorable.

As far as my own thoughts on Skyrim, it looks promising so far, certainly, there's some things that haven't really pleased me. But I had complaints with past Elder Scrolls games too. As a whole, the good points have outweighed the bad for me, and I expect to enjoy Skyrim.

I don't think it seems it's getting too casual, since there's a possibility there won't be any quest markers. Of course we have fast travel, but we'll just have to endure that. This is the most anticipated game this year according to at least Gamereactor, and since Oblivion got 10/10 from pretty much all mags (including a "We love you!"-mark from Gamereactor, which only a very few select games get), I can see this one getting 11! :P

It's pretty obvious Skyrim will get 8+/10 on review sites.

I think magazines will give it 9-10.
Most MW fans will probably hate ON it, like OB.
I think the game seems quite casual so far, but I hope I'm wrong.

It will get a 95% Metacritic score and Spike's GOTY award among many other GOTY 2011 awards. It will beat Uncharted 3 and probably Mass Effect 3 for most GOTY awards in 2011.

But where was the option for "Best game in history"? "One of the best games this generation" is to put it mild, it's the default position and guaranteed.

Oblivion and Morrowind are my top 2 best games in history, by far (and probably are to many Elder Scrolls fans) and I'm confident Skyrim has a big chance to challenge them both for the top spots.

People who actually play the game will probably give it 9-10. I'm very disappointed by a few things, but they can be modded (Morrowind transportation system). Only thing we can't mod is the map size, which I'm pretty disappointed about. But all in all, I think that it will be a great great game.

People who don't play it will most likely just say "Yeah those graphics don't look too good, I won't play this."
It's those people who first only go by the looks of the game that would say that, instead of reading what the game actually is about and what it features.

What you think about skyrim so far?

I'm mixed on it at the moment. I like some of the directions it seems to have taken, but there are a few things I'm quite disappointed over.

Well i dont know...Morrowind for me was 10/10,best video game ever.Oblivion was 8.5/10.
I think Skyrim will be estimated about 9 - 9.5 / 10 by most game-reviewers i guess.(I hope so)
