Skyrim Vs. School

Post » Tue Aug 16, 2011 3:26 pm

Excited to have 11/11/11 off college and thankfully winter break isn't too long after that.

Aside from that... I don't know. I have full days of classes and like to work out in the evening. It could turn out to be a busy couple of semesters.

Don't forget to sometimes turn off the game and pay attention to the real world aspects of life.

Last thing you want is for it overshadow other commitments or make you miss out on things.

Entertainment sources should just be that: Entertainment.

Not to go parent on you. Devs like J.E. Sawyer has made good points about this though. They may create games you can play for a year straight if you'd like to but it should never impede other things. J.E. Sawyer himself wants you to play and get out of his games whatever fun or satisfaction you need and head back to the real world.

life is filled with balancing acts. One must always put responsibilities before entertainment. If you don't then one day you find yourself not being able to afford any entertainment at all. Whether it's a job or school or family, it all comes before games. What is cool is that if you get your work done and/or get a bit done ahead, then we all have a bit of time left over to do something we really enjoy like playing Skyrim.

It really shouldn't be a question of which one but rather keeping abriast of your work load (school and career and home) enough to have some fun time left over.

School will not come between me and Skyrim. School is rather easy, and I have almost no homework, as it can all be finished before I even get home, leaving all of my time at home to Skyrim.

I won't play much skyrim until winter break. School is more important than skyrim.

I mean't this as in, after i'm done with all my responsibilities, i fear the time i have left over for entertainment won't be enough.
I didn't mean it as, "oh i have school during the day, what a bummer i wish i could flunk school and play Skyrim all the time". I mean't it as "I just finished my homework and studying and chores, etc. But now I have no time to play Skyrim.. bummer."

I am close to the top of my class and I already don't try in school. When Skyrim comes out I will simply have to put forth a little effort in order to keep my 4.75 GPA.

Edit: I plan to take a day off from school for Skyrim if I have not missed any days up to that point.

Same here. I've never tried in school, and I have a 4.0! My school just implemented A's in Honors classes bumping it to 4.5 and AP classes 5.0. So this year, I'll be able to have a 4.5, and technically a 5.0 from next year onwards.

I plan on working part time come September so 20-30 hours a week would be strictly for that. Meanwhile, Since I only have 3 courses to do this year in school throughout both semesters I should have no problem coming home, Do some homework for an hour, Maybe not at all if I did well during school hours, Play some Skyrim. Or, Work after school then play skyrim when I get home until I'm ready to sleep. Time management, Priorities, And self-control. Altho Skyrim is a game that has me really excited, It is just a game.

Lies...

I'm going to be finishing all of my work early the week Skyrim comes out. So I will have plenty of time to ignore my classes once 11-11-11 comes around.

Oh and I'm saving some vacation time for this month too. Since I pretty much always have to work weekends, and holidays.

I will be able to control the amount of time i play (like an hour on school days; a lot more on weekends). The worst part about this is that i will be thinking about Skyrim during class, making 90 minutes feel like 10 hours, each damn class period. :(

Simple. I'll grow up and learn how to divide my time between work and pleasure. Easier said than done, yes, but it's something pretty much everyone has to do at some point. Might as well start with Skyrim.

I don't know. I'm in Grade 12, and I want to get into university so I'm going to have to really put my nose to the grindstone this year. But hopefully that weekend, I'll not have homework and can just play the whole weekend. It's going to be an internal stuggle but I'll give myself at least an hour of play time a day.

I got all my classes done in freshman/softmore/junior year. Now I have my chance to relax. All I have to take is like english and Government.

Usually senior year doesnt matter because you usually apply for college in the beginning of the year. They focus on previous years.

I'm a Chemical Engineering major in college but only one class on Friday in the morning (that will probably be canceled due to Veteran's Day), hopefully my significant other will let me play Friday, Saturday, & Sunday.
