Skyrim Vs. School

Post » Tue Aug 16, 2011 7:32 am

I'm sure many of you are still in school, and (obviously) can't wait for Skyrim.

My question is, how will you deal with school once you get your hands on Skyrim?

Will you totally neglect it, or will you SOMEHOW stay on task. Personally, I don't know how im going to deal with it myself. I'll probably just end up staying up all night playing Skyrim, only to wake up (if I sleep at all) at 6am to catch the bus. Or maybe I'll just bust my ass from the first day of school until 11-11-11 so my grades won't fall too dramatically.

I strongly think the gaming season of the year should be May-June. Therefore, students could get there hands on the games before Summer, so we won't be so damn distracted during the school year. I don't know, this seemed like an interesting topic to discuss, considering every other topic has a thread already :P

Thanks for reading.

Hopefully my [censored]-head brother will fix his own Xbox by then, or else I'm in the [censored]. :/

IDK, since the game comes out on Veteran's Day, and that's a Friday, I'll have 3 whole days to play it. So I'll be good or a while.

But I'll keep my mind on school while in it, doing my homework in my free time so I can go home and play.

I sort of have this problem, only I will be at college when Skyrim comes out.
Thankfully, I am willfull enough to wisely divide my time between Video Games and Course Work.

Luckily for me, I won't have very much homework. All I have to do is show up for lectures and take tests.

It shouldn't affect my grades too much.

Try to get most of my work done while I'm still there or during breaks at work. Probably won't be able to get deep into it until winter break, though.

Wait till you go to college, have a job(working 30-40 hours per week), bills, and a GF living with you. Then tell me about how hard it will be.

I do agree at least some of the high budget games should come out in the Summer.

Glad I'm not in school anymore. I took the day off from work though and I don't go back to work till the next Wednesday so I'll have 5 days to play Skyrim non-stop. ^-^

I am close to the top of my class and I already don't try in school. When Skyrim comes out I will simply have to put forth a little effort in order to keep my 4.75 GPA.

Edit: I plan to take a day off from school for Skyrim if I have not missed any days up to that point.

Well in my case choosing College over Skyrim = more Skyrim in the long run :)

If I were still in school I would pretend to be sick then again I would probably get caught because I'm a terrible actor. Luckily I'm done with school for a while.

That's odd :turned:

While in school you have other kind of duties and matters to think about.
Thinking that I have to do my homework might be more frustrating at the moment I do,but not so stressful in the long-term as it is having to think about the telephone and electricity bills, taxes, bureaucracy, fear of getting fired from your job, blah blah blah....

I work, fortunately, and I never have to bring my work home, so as soon as I finish the day, I'll spend all the free time in Tamriel :D

I have to manage part-time work, full time Creative Writing major, part-time Evolutionary Biology minor, my girlfriend and Skyrim, as well as having a "MUST WRITE AT LEAST 1,000 WORDS A DAY EVEN IF THEY svck [censored]" quota to fill.

I think, to start, three days off of school and work isn't too much to ask. Girlfriend lives with me in tiny apartment ... she will have to deal and she's usually really cool about nerdy [censored] like this. Once I fill in those three days and my eyes bleed, I'll have to take it slow unfortunately. Real life is sad, sometimes.

lol this is my first year of college and I have no idea how I will balance school with Skyrim...I'm hoping that since I have a long winter break compared to other scholls it will start soon after Skyrim comes out.
