Maybe it's just me, but when I look at the tavern girl, I feel like she's got a 5 o`clock shadow. And I know it's not just the shadows, because it's visible even on the well lit side of her face.

First people are disappointed when they don't see shadows... and still point things out when there is. Yes that is a shadow. There is a definite light source to the right, off screen. But there is NO light source directly under her chin, therefore a shadow exists. Look at the folds on her blouse, sleeves and briasts, they both have shadowy areas underneath as well.

Care to contribute? No? Then you're spamming the thread... as usual. It's importance is arguable as with every other debate on these forums. After all, it is just a videogame, right? Tell me this: When do I ever question your posts even though I believe they have no bearing on the subject? To me, it's a point worth making and it'd be wise to respect other people's opinions on here lest you anger the community. Show me respect and I'll do the same for you. It's also relative to the topic. I am conversing on the matter of what is in the original poster's given screenshot. Not interested? Look elsewhere. And other people are free to bring up different things. No one is stopping them.

Forget the floating cheese, I'm more concerned about the size of that puny mammoth tusk.

take a look at the screenshot again. There seems to be a big tusk as well as a smaller tusk underneath it. or is that just my imagination. could be the smaller tusk on the shelf under the fish

It looks like not 2 pheasants but 1 pheasant and 2 ducks tied together.

in the tavern screenshot there are many examples of varied body shapes the redguard or possible slightly dark skinned nord is very well built and also has slight razor stubble

behind the woman sweeping the floor there appears to be two legs of mutton or possibly large mushrooms

the rugs on the floor under the chairs appear to be either snow bear or even horker hide

behind the blonde haired bar wench there appears to be what looks like a pool cue lying on the ground

due to its jaw structure the fish on the wall appears to be a predatory fish most likely a slaughterfish as its jaws look like those of an alligator gar

as to be expected behind the bartender there are beer bottles

hanging from the ceiling there appears to be dried mushrooms and various spices

as was likely mentioned before the deer head is ENORMOUS

near the rounds of cheese there is a loaf of bread

and thats all i can notice that is of any substance

I have discussed anything else! But sadly, I belive what I said was swept away by the tide of passion people hold for tusk size and curveture, and I belive 2 people had allready commented as a I wrote my post and 2 more within a short amount of time of my post, leaving me quite ignored....

Moving things on, one thing that looks awsome in the screen is the fella behind the bar. Muscular like a hard working man, dressed like a hard working man, bearded like a hard working man... no homo but that is a MAN MAN, not a floppy sponge face man like we had in oblivion. Same goes for the woman- she's a WOMAN WOMAN.

It sounds weird I should celebrate MEN MEN and WOMEN WOMEN because they are pretty common in real life, but I'm glad to see that the characters will be a bit more... real. I would actually be threatend if that guy tried to kick me out of his pub, instead of being pestered by floppy faced pensioners all the time...

The blonds arm does not cast a shadow on her self.

the bowl sitting next to the cheese does not cast a shadow.

there is too much ambiant lighting.

the light fixture hangig from the celing is made from dragon teeth.

the shadows do not look very detailed.

the textures are low resolution.

issues that have likely been long fixed that screenshot i think litterally was the first to be shown

It seems as if the light from the chandelier is causing the shadows behind the baskets on the shelf on the left and the "whatever" horn on the right, which is a pretty cool effect, but what is the source of the shadow directly above the baskets?

Maybe they are different stages of that since Bethesdas still changing the game around

Didn't read every reply so sorry if it's already been mentioned, but I noticed... Not everyone in the bar is staring at you like they would in oblivion. Only the blonde woman you're apparently interacting with, which imo, is very good.

Very nice pick up!! Yes indeed... I do believe you're correct. I doubt it's the save tavern at a different point in progress. Although I'm ok with it, since it is a different layout. Maybe it's a franchise? lol Still ok though, doesn't really bother me.

Of course, but things clearly aren't in the same arrangement.

They probably set it out specifically for the screen shots, and the arrangement of things on shelves is most likely a group of items placed together in a predefined arrangement to help with time management. Cause you gotta remember, all these little details take time and resources.

Is it just me, or do some other people feel slightly afraid of how some of the elves will look, the Altmer in the trailer looks a little too alien for my tastes, but that is only one character that is hard to see detail in. Overall I like the tavern in both the pictures and trailers alot, besides a few flat textures. Everything seems so detailed.

The tavern screenshot is really the only one with a lot of substance. Can't think of any others that haven't been discussed in full detail...
http://i51.tinypic.com/2mdghuh.jpg could be good, I guess.

1. The city in the background is most likely Solitude (located http://i56.tinypic.com/2vt2lpe.jpg on the map). If that is the case, the mountains in the far background are http://i52.tinypic.com/2gxi7md.jpg, and the slightly wooded area behind the rock arch is in fact the north-western reachs of The Pale, located http://i51.tinypic.com/34r9fts.jpg.

2. There is a horse in the lower left corner. It's short and stocky with feathered fetlocks, similiar to a draft horse. The saddle is much more detailed than in Oblivion.

3. In the lower right corner, there's an NPC chopping wood.

4. The wood chopping NPC as well as the NPC closer to the windmill both have belt bags on.

5. The settlement has various types of towers as well as a castle on the rock arch (most likely the count's quarters).

6. One of the main gates can be seen in the upper left, closed. This may mean open cities is a no. -_-

7. The NPC ascending the hill to the right appears to be wearing heavy armor. The same type armor can be seen http://i56.tinypic.com/2n1v21s.jpg in a different town. This leads me to believe that these are Imperial Guards that traverse the province much like in Oblivion.

8. Many birds are flying about in the sky.

9. Different flora surrounds the wood chopping NPC.

10. The trees have been polished since the trailer as evidenced by http://i54.tinypic.com/mjs8jk.jpg.

Some of my speculation concerning the city stems from a conversation I had with Dragonbone. Credit goes to him.
