Wonder how long it will take us to get out of the uncanny valley and make games truly life-like.

1. The city in the background is most likely Solstheim (located http://i56.tinypic.com/2vt2lpe.jpg on the map). If that is the case, the mountains in the far background are http://i56.tinypic.com/3128yyw.jpg, and the slightly wooded area behind the rock arch is in fact the swamp enviroment located http://i56.tinypic.com/sfbjo3.jpg.

Hmm, I don't think so. The view of "Solitude" is more in this direction.

thanks oh yeah and solstheim isnt in skyrim i think this city is probably one of the more southern cities like riften or falkreath. idk this picture doesnt give alot but il try my best well obviously theres a horse near that mill a rather strongly built one

and off in the distance theres a guard (wonder what this games memorable thing about the guards will be. i say deep voices you can hear even if ur very far from them)

there appears to be a torch or a lantern on the building near to the mill

one of the people chopping wood (the one with the brown shirt) appears to have the tell tale dunmer blue skin

and well thats all i can get from this picture

SOLITUDE! That's what I meant! Solstheim is an island. :P

I've edited out the mistakes. Your link makes more sense than my own.

Nope. It has to be in the North because it's right next to the sea. The picture I gave doesn't really show that though. http://i51.tinypic.com/imnn68.jpg.

Did they do some redecorating? Or...as I have feared. Cloned Taverns!!!!
http://i.imgur.com/SY3by.jpg

I believe they are the same tavern as the same lady can be seen sweeping in both images. Or at least a very similar lady with identical hair and attire. Perhaps one is the evil twin tavern.

Awesome find. I failed to see this. Notice the faces in the trailer still. The lute player has some detail in his but the NPC standing behind the bar and the one sitting down just have blobs where faces should be. They look like another race, maybe Altmer though the bard is clearly a Nord. Evidence that they are still working on elves?

Well yah, also there is a gigantic burning fire and rugs/carpets underneath the stools in one of them, but I'm certain this is the same place, and your probably right about it being an Inn. I'm guessing it has something to do with the main quest since we are seeing it so much.

I wouldn't really say this is the uncanny valley, because I don't really think there's anything "uncanny" about any screens I've seen so far. The environments and characters are clearly animated, yet still beautiful in my opinion, not unsettling in the least.

8. And last but not least, this confirms Skyrim's wenches are hotter than Cyrodiil's. If there was ever any arguement...
I'll drink to that. Bonus immersion points if the screen focuses on her briasts instead of her face when you talk to her. :P

Don't crucify me if this is already commonly known knowledge, but you know the scene in the trailer where the character comes up from behind someone and assassinates them with a dagger? The room that takes place in IS the tavern. Take a look at the right of the screen at 1:32. The same lighting, stools, shelves and accessories, as well as the same hanging lamps.

This was new to me...and very well might be common knowledge. If so, my bad.

Ive been reading along, and I have to tell you I think Skyrimmer was correct....This unfortunately does appear to be a cloned tavern rather than the same place. Look closer at the comparison.

1. Slaughterfish mount is missing in trailer pic.
2. The rugs are different. One is an animal skin rug and the other is a blue material.
3. Elk head is missing from trailer pic.
4. There is a split between the two bars in the screenshot, but the bar in the trailer is all one piece.
5. There is a pot missing from the top left shelf in the trailer pic.
6. If this were the same place, it would seem like the woman in the screenshot would be standing right in the fire. Am I wrong?

7. This one is the most frightening. The items on the shelves behind the bar look identical in layout and number. The interiors look almost exactly the same, down to the stonework on the floor.

What scares me is that if people think these two are the same place, and they arent, just how similar are these 'unique' locations and dungeons really going to be? Because this seems far from unique.

No they have faces. But they look exactly the same as one another. Both lacking in detail and oddly proportioned.

I honestly think they're just experimenting with that particular room. Nothing big.

They ARE pine trees after all. So the screenshot is located in the pine forest.

Here's a couple of locations:

You know, what if the tavern's shape is just long? It could very well be the same tavern, but what I first thought was that the screenshot on the left with the sneaking character is from the far left part of the tavern, and the screenshot with the blonde woman is from the right side. The table/counter could just be long and there might be three of them.

However, the shelves seen on both screenies on the left would then be different ones, and it kinda concerns me, as they look almost identical.

My thoughts exactly. Like I said its just what I think, but it looks like two different places that just look almost identical. And wouldnt that woman still be standing right in the fire pit in the center of the room? Plus if it is all one, long bar like you suggest that would seem to mean that there are four counters behind the bar, two for food and two for potions/drink that look identical. Either way...

Someone else mentioned it could be a test room that was switched around... but I find that unlikely but its possible. I just hope that there arent too many similar looking taverns or locations in general.

They keep saying how unique Skyrim is so I wouldnt mind an explanation behind these screens
