I like this thread, but you should also include the other screen shots so we can anolyze them. And about the floating cheese, it's not floating. Lol.

Yes it is. It's not as extreme as it was in Oblivion but if you look closely you can see a bit of the wall between the two wheels of cheese.

Have nobody ever noticed the two new skills to the far left and right on this screenshot?:
http://www.elderscrolls.com/skyrim/media/screenshots/tavern/ (the skills menu image after the tavern, somehow I didn't get to link it directly)

The left one ends with "...AFT" - probably a craft skills but which? It's not Smithing because that's on the far right "SMITH...". I found this rather interesting because it seems like some people have totally missed this in their guesses as to which skills are in the game.

The "AFT" thing as been mentioned so many times already. It's 100% speechcraft,no if's and's or buts about it. :)

In fact , i'm sure there is a wider picture of that screen somewhere that shows "echcraft" or "eechcraft".....thats kind of obvious really. :)

No, that's a shadow. The cheese isn't floating.

Awsome awsome thread idea!! :D

Afraid to point out some weird kind of seam issue on the floor, where stone ends and wood begins. If you look below the leg of the bench, theres a small gap in the mesh of the wooden border, or it lifst up to reveal an untextured part or something... just nit picking a piece of beautiy now though.

It's too pixelated to really say for sure. May be floating, may be a shadow. There's really no need to discuss it any longer.

My god! The Havok issue is back!

Jk, I think it's nothing to worry about.

Like I said, not nearly as extreme as Oblivion's. 1/8 inch is a lot better than 2 to 3 inches.

Anyone noticed the size of that deer′s head? it′s huge!

Indeed.

1. The elk head mounted on the wall is massive.

2. Two birds are hanging adjacent to the elk head (likely pheasants).

3. Under said birds is a fish. Could be a Slaughterfish. Could also be a new species.

4. Below the fish there is a mammoth tusk, which gives us an idea of how big these creatures are. If it belongs to an advlt, not very big at all. If it doesn't, baby mammoths!

6. Many variations of bottles on the shelf to the left.

7. Every type of clothing shown, you can wear. That's just cool.

8. And last but not least, this confirms Skyrim's wenches are hotter than Cyrodiil's. If there was ever any arguement...

Edit: Baby mammoth's don't have tusks. :violin:

Bah! Major discovery I just did!

The sitting NPC to the very left im http://download2.zenimax.com/akqacms/files/tes/screenshots/Tavern01_wLegal.jpg
...
is possibly the same NPC walking (holding something) closest to the player in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JSRtYpNRoN0&feature=player_detailpage#t=87s
They have the same clothes and possibly the same hair.

And in the trailer I linked, you can see (if watching in full detail), that that NPC has elf-ears. I assume this NPC is a Bosmer.
This place was also seen in the magazines, where it said it was Riverwood.

Therefore, I come to the incredibly important and major conclusion that the NPC sitting to the very left in http://download2.zenimax.com/akqacms/files/tes/screenshots/Tavern01_wLegal.jpg
... is a Bosmer in the tavern of Riverwood! Most likely just done working concerning carrying something! Bah!

Mind officially blown. Nice catch!

That cheese is not floating, nor is anything else. If there was such an issue, not just the cheese would be floating either. And i don't see anything floating. :)
I think you also mentoned about a lack of shadow on the bowl etc, thats because of multiple light sources. There are also light sources you can't see in that picture too. Above the sixy barmaid, and probably more.

I must say, the interactable objects from past games, such as cheese, bottles etc look way too good.. Either interactable objects are now really that great or they aren't interactable.. Worst case scenario vs best case scenario.

Forget the floating cheese, I'm more concerned about the size of that puny mammoth tusk.

Maybe it's just me, but when I look at the tavern girl, I feel like she's got a 5 o`clock shadow. And I know it's not just the shadows, because it's visible even on the well lit side of her face.

I guess I'll post this here.
I noticed something in the beginning of the trailer in one of the dragon perspective shots, there seems to be some fog or something that appears in a tree.
Here is the beginning shot, nothing in the tree. http://img849.imageshack.us/img849/7757/skyrimtree2.jpg
Then here is it again after the camera moves closer. http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/7701/skyrimtree.jpg

My screens are blurry so I suggest you watch the trailer to see it, 22 seconds in. What do you think it is, just a glitch or something else? At first i thought it was a snowy mist caused by the birds leaving the branches, but it seems to big and it doesn't happen on any of the other trees.

Just a thought. But what if it's a minotaur horn?

You could be right but it doesn't look like any kind of minotaur horn I've ever seen. Unless they point outward like a http://www.rarebreeds.co.nz/texas3.jpg instead of up, no.

Huh? It's a tree on a pile of snow as I see it. Not really sure what you mean.

You could be right but it doesn't look like any kind of minotaur horn I've ever seen. Unless they point outward like a Texas Longhorn instead of up, no.

It could simply be the horn of a new monster in Skyrim. New monsters do appear in each TES game you know ^^

I hope so. I like my mammoths big. Atleast as big as the dragon we've seen in the trailer. Atleast.
