Skyrim should have an anime

Anime makes me want to vomit and/or kill things. That Naruto link is just.... urgh. Laughable.

I'd much rather see something along the lines of the current Star Wars: The Clone Wars series. I think that style would be a far better fit for The Elder Scrolls.

As long as its not like the X-men anime *cringes* :nope:
Sadly it's the level that anime does such ideas.
Just look at Dante in newest DMC, if something bring much crash, the higher ups can sacrifise it for profits sake,
And i dont think Todd have any influence how the franchise will develop (in the non game way), he is "only" a game developer, and im sure the "salesman" part of company dont give him free hand even when designing his own game
While I liked the idea of not playing Dante to know the plot through watching it in non interactive medium it wouldn't work as well for TES. Open world game with players picking flowers and killing chickens with a smile. I can't imagine Morrowind, Oblivion or Skyrim being cut down to 2 hours feature, even when considering just main story, which would feel flat.

I won't say my opinion on Star Wars anime stylized series based on the prequels.
While TES could work as a animated series, I prefer something western like the lore and subject itself (e.g. Master of the Universe). Anime or anime stylized thing have to many googly eyes to portrait R rated material.
I know that artists were influenced by Japanese culture ever since XVIII century (e.g. Van Gogh or Monet), but right now they are just mindlessly coping it.

So a movie or animated movie could be cool if done right, but not a long series (dungeon crawling might get boring after a while in non interactive medium), and especially not mindless multicultural mix.

But I still demand that we get a tabletop game before any of this other stuff
I absolutely agree! TES could make for an excellent table top game.

Bethesda! Start the talks with Fantasy Flight Games, now!

This could be very interesting so long as they stick to a dark and gritty anime style like Helsing or Death Note. I can totally see Pelinal Whitestrake just wrecking the crap out of the Khajiits and then getting his ass handed to him by them later while he is in a cybernetic suit of sorts calle the crusasers relics...or you know the plethora of various stories and such that could be uses from the Universe.

No, no and no.Anime would not fit into Tamriel at all, it would turn as mockery. In the end we would see Tiber Kitty Naruto being reborn due to his avatar power to fight against Goku who is in truth Sithis.....
Don't give Betsheda ideas, they might like them...

Don't be a [NUMMIT], man.

If the man wants to share his idea, who are you to mock him for it? What you are doing is not constructive critism, it's just being rude. And that last line of yours?
That just makes you sound like huge [NUMMIT]

Telling someone that the idea they have is awful and telling them not to give the idea to bethesda? So what, you can go ask bethesda for things you want instead?

I told my opinion, I did not insult anyone.
I think idea would turn into something that would only taint the name of Tes.
Many games that are turned into movies, animes end in disaster.
Let Tes stay Tes, if you want anime, go to Pokemon.

There's a lot more to "anime" than Naruto and Dragon Ball Z. I don't really see why a TES anime couldn't have the right feel and tone if done by the right studio and Bethesda kept them on tight enough reigns. There are quite a few well done animated series/movies that are dark/serious, on both sides of the ocean.

Like most suggestions along these lines, it'd be good if it were done right (duh). The chances of it being done "right" are pretty low, considering past attempts.

For reasons I cannot fathom, a phobia (irrational fear) and misconceptions about anime are far too widespread among many western audiences.

It really shouldn't. Plenty of mediocre JRPGs to make into anime (if they aren't based on anime already...), no need to bring TES into the mix.

Likely to wrong, chance of it being good.

I for one would not mind seeing the result

Your criticism of it hardly seemed Constructive. It seemed more like the bashing of the OP's idea. I know that many things try to go anime and fail. However, I would want to see the end result before making judgments.

And not all anime is Pokemon, Naruto, and Dragonball Z. While a lot of it can be steaming pile's of [NUMMIT], some of it can be good. If there was to be a TES anime, I would it gritty, not some Lucky Star type of thing

Ok, I apologize to anyone if I insulted them with my bashing, my error.
And just to say, I have nothing against anime, in truth, I like some of them a lot, like Elfen Lied, Blood+, Hellsing, Hellgirl, you see what type I love.
But it just seems so..well strange, mixing Tes and anime style.
But if it was done by Hayao Miyazaki, it would be a must thing for all tes people.

No thank you,

The Elder Scrolls are mature stories with realistic aspects in a rich fiction atmosphere, which wouldn't transfer well into anime (in my opinion), at all whatsoever.

I'm fine just books and games.

I hate anime, never liked it. But everyone is entitled to their opinion. Why can't they make a CG series, then?

There is a reason we hate anime. It isn't irrational at all. It's because anime is complete sh*t.

It's as irrational as someone saying they hate "foreign films" or "foreign cartoons" after seeing after seeing 3 or 4. "Anime" is a pretty huge genre, and it has little to nothing to do with the story content.

The way i see it, anime is just an animation style. An Elder Scrolls anime wouldn't need to have an "over-the-top" storyline. Most animes tend to lean towards that type of story because that's just the way Japanese culture is. But it wouldn't NEED to be made in Japan. And it wouldn't NEED to appeal to that type of culture. It wouldn't really be that hard for Beth to find a writer that has a more western view on storytelling...

No problem. Sorry to seem a bit jerkish in the last comments. Was just trying to stick up for the OP. I can understand why it would seem odd to many people. Lot of people don't like anime, and don't want ti mixed with elder scrolls. Myself? I would prefer it to be more of a anime animations style rather than straight up Lucky Star or Dragon ball Z.

Why even post if you post something that certainly will not change anyones perspective nor adds anything to the discussion? Opinion without something to back it is as pointless as forgetting your lighter when going to a Reggae concert. Everyone has one and is willing to share it anyways.

They can but this thread is about making it an Anime series. A CG series would be cool as well imo but it too would need to be well done.

May I ask how? There are lots of animes with their own interesting and realistic feel within a mature story with a rich fiction atmosphere. Anime does not mean they are all like Bleach, Naruto, or Dragonball Z. Those are just some of the most popular ones. Any type of feeling can be conveyed through an anime style. So long as the artists can draw it and have talent then they can are only limited by their imagination and budget.

I can appreciate self opinion but you seem to be misinformed about what Anime is capable of. In all honesty I would only want them to do something like this as long as it does not in any big way cause issues for the Game Developers at BGS. With the money they made off of Skyrim though they could easily support other means of delivery for the TES franchise.
