Skyrim should have an anime

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 7:00 am

Maybe not Skyrim per se. But I feel like The infernal city, a dance in fire, The Real Barenziah, and/or just the Elder Scrolls universe in general would translate really well into the medium.

I disagree TC.

TES anime will probably end badly.

I'm open to all mediums taking form in all other mediums.

It's fandom, creativity, and although it could go wrong, someone with the talent could really do something with it.

No, thank you.

In fact, I cringe whenever I see the latest anime mod over there on Skryim Nexus... it just doesn't look right with this setting.

Well, yeah. But that isn't really anime. That's just a bunch of people failing at copying anime. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P7PlTJll_0c&feature=related

i love TES, i love anime, i dont know if they would mesh well though (sort of how mixing ice cream and baked potatos would end badly [probably]), it would either end very well or disgustingly awful

I like Anime. I like Elder scrolls. A elder scrolls anime? Either would work very well or very badly.
Granted, flaming would be VERY high.

I think you're doing this wrong. You're looking at TES through the filter of the games. Try instead to view it as Todd and the rest of the Bethesda team imagined it.

Edit: Like, imagine if instead of being the size of one or two city blocks, the cities were as big as actual cities. Imagine if the Imperial city was as big as "Ba Sing Se?" from Avatar: The Last Airbender ( http://images.wikia.com/avatar/images/6/6f/Ba_Sing_Se.png). Imagine if all the people had real personalities. etc.
Ya feel me?

An animated series could be interesting. I'm not so sure if the style really needs to be anime, but I don't really watch any so who knows. Maybe it could work.

But I still demand that we get a tabletop game before any of this other stuff :P

Well, the last JRPG I played was Valkyria Chronicles and the last Anime I saw was Helsing... FFS?! I don't think the TES lore is ready for an invasion of the androgynous swim suit models. Although the Kahjiit would fit in the underlining beastiality thing most Japanese stuff has going on these days.

To the OP: Don't think that will happen anytime soon considering the fact that the main man(Todd) doesn't have a taste for anime---he expressed that sentiment in one interview---

Anime should go its own way, without adaptating western stuff,

One time they critized Bioware's focus on romancing, and poof they come with marriages in skyrim, if it where really profitable they would adapt skyrim to little kids cartoon chanell trust me

I'd love to see Eldersrcrolls portrayed in a manner similar to what they did with Star Wars: The Clone Wars (The old mini-series on cartoon network from 2003).

Money talks and yes, that could be a possibility. Athough, there's is always a line that can't be cross. Imagine if Spiderman's outfit all of the sudden changes to a glowing pink and shooting flowers on a string instead of spider webs.

Just look at Dante in newest DMC, if something bring much crash, the higher ups can sacrifise it for profits sake,
And i dont think Todd have any influence how the franchise will develop (in the non game way), he is "only" a game developer, and im sure the "salesman" part of company dont give him free hand even when designing his own game
