Skyrim should be Remastered, heres why.

Post » Sat Aug 09, 2014 12:04 pm

Straight off cut content could be added which if some of you don't know was better water shaders , seasonal foliage, water currents in dungeons and caves, smarter stealth mechanics, and realistic dark dungeons and caves, and other awesome things. Now the graphics would be the same level as what high end pc mods can do and maybe even more, view distance could be tripled and textures would be the same quality as the mods. The biggest thing is the game could run smoother, and have more stuff in it like more grass, better lighting, etc.

Things I'd wish they'd put in is tessellation, PhysX, and a easy to use Creation Kit.

I'm not convinced. ;)

Install some mods on PC and you'll have all that. No need for Bethesda to waste time/resources when they could be working on a new game instead.

pretty much Skyrim is over, finished done. no more. No remakes or remasters. the devs have moved on to other projects. Hopefully the next TES game. And of course the new Fallout game.

Either way its been made pretty clear there is not going to be a next gen version.

And most of what you mentioned is already easily available for pc players. season change, realistic darkness, better water textures and so on.

It is already remastered! On PC that is.

Skyrim will never be re-released officially in any way, shape or form. They simply won't do it regardless of how much money they could potentially earn. Never ever, unfortunately

The other issue is there are so many mods that it is more fun to customize your game just the way you like than it would be to buy some version of what someone else thinks it ought to be.

Don't worry broski! TES VI in 2020 I bet! 20/20/20 release date :D

I refuse to wait that long! :P

I expect we should know something hopefully later this year with a late 2015 or early 2016 release. (I hope anyway)

I'm strongly against the idea of re-mastering games that are only a few years old, Last of Us really made me annoyed because the game is barely a year old. No, skyrim shouldn't be re-mastered, sure it has bugs and problems but it's still playable and it's better to just move on then re-making a game to look prettier.

It's a good thing you're posting this bit of rant which could be misconstrued as blasphemy here mate.

The Fallout fan boys might have ripped your soul to pieces for suggesting Bethesda waste any time on recreating TES V.

I hate to break it to you, but there is no 20th month, it only goes up to 12.

Agreed. I keep hoping that we'll hear some official word about Fallout 4 being released soon, but I've been continually disappointed. But that's OK really, I'm still into playing Fallout 3 and New Vegas. And I fairly recently purchased versions 1 & 2 and Tactics, but haven't played them yet. So I can fill my boots with Fallout for some time to come yet.

I hope Bethesda Game Studios does release The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim for sale with improved visuals for the PlayStation 4 (PS4) and Xbox One and add DirectX 11 support for the PC version of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim in a free patch and keep DirectX 9.0c support and Windows XP support.

I don't think Fallout 4 or another fallout game is going to happen soon, iirc Bethesda is still dealing with interplay's hissy fit.

Fun fact: That "Cut content" you mentioned was never cut, it was stuff thrown together by devs that were given a week to do whatever they wanted. We all know about it.

and before you say "then why don't they add it?"

1) Several bits of it was in tthe DLCs.

2) IT was a week's work, most of it probably rough around the edges.

3) they are done with Skyrim.

Soo... better everything? You'd better be talking about remastered for a newer console, because the ps3 and xbox already could not handle skyrim very well. What your suggesting would kill it. :D I like your ideas though, they certainly would make the game more fun, I would buy.

If you want cut content (and play on the PC), try this mod: http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1478314-relz-cutting-room-floor-thread-1/

The Void Engine is developed from id Software's id Tech video game engine, that gamespot.com article does not have all of the descriptions I remember reading lat year or at least one of the descriptions I think I remember reading that the Void Engine will be developed to be able to do open world video games. I might be wrong about this though.
