Bigger than a teacup, but smaller than the moon.

Somebody used measurements found in the novels to work out that it was roughly the same size as Portugal.

Infernal City stated that Lilmoth was 15 miles from the sea. If that measurement is correct then Tamriel is around the same size as Egypt/Venezuela.

If course the measuring in the novels may be wrong.

Its more likly that the 'dot' on the map that he mesured from Lilmoth to the coast is more than likly not acurate.

As somebody in that thread pointed out, Nirn could be a lot smaller than Earth. I actually kind of like it being smaller, it makes the disconnect between the games and the "reality" seem somewhat less blatant.

Tamriel is decribed as being roughly 12 million square kilometers in size within the Arena manual and estimates made from distances given within the games size the entire planet to be about 60% the size of the Earth. Skyrim would be about 1,370,000 square kilometers at this scale.

Cities get shuffled around all the time, before Skyrim Markarth was much father away from the border.

It was probably just poor dot placement on the map. No way is Tamriel that small.

Well, in Daggerfall, wasn't the Illiac Bay about the size of Great Britain?

By that logic, Skyrim would be about the size of Kazakhistan or Alaska by very unscientific guestimation.
