Skyrim: Skill level bug

Post » Sun Jul 21, 2013 5:04 am

Hi there guys,

I have been playing Skyrim for quite a while now, and I came across this bug in the Skills menu. It just shows me two different levels for the smithing skill. I tried using the legendary function, but it did not quite work. Did anyone find a solution for this? IS there some kind of reset function in the level? I mean I tried using player.setav and setadv but that didn't change anything at all.

Many thanks,

Erik

Did you make Smithing Legendary?

If so, the Empire Logo will appear below the skill and a number to show how many time you made it Legendary.

did you drink a fortify smithing potion by any chance?

could be showing one number in green that is higher then the other and not allowing you to pick high level perks?

Well if you are looking to reset a skill tree, you could always play through the Dragonborn DLC and at the end, you get a one-time option to reset any skill tree you want. It's different from the Legendary since you get the skill points. But if you are trying to do the Legendary option, follow what the first 2 guys said.

Yes the skill level at the skill tree is green. But I don't think I drank a potion. Maybe I just messed up something with the commands.

I mean my problem is that my smithing skill is at level 45, but the number at the skill menu shows me that it's 160 or something like that.

Sounds like you used the modav command or something.

To safely increase your skill use the advskill [name] xxxx

Name of the skill. Then the amount. 1,000 will make a level 15 skill increase by 3 or 5 levels.
