Skyrim vs. Social Life

Post » Thu Aug 11, 2011 11:08 am

I'm about to be a junior in high school, and i have a social life. Don't have a girlfriend right now, but who knows what could happen sept, october. All i'm saying is that Skyrim will probably crsh my social life. People will ask if i want to go to a party, i will just say no, because all i want to do is kill dragons and wood elves.
This is a win-lose situation apparently.

Skyrim. Every time.
The better question is; Skyrim v.s Coursework!
...man, I'm sorry Skyrim. I guess I'll just have to play when I have the time :( .

Ok? If you're expecting someone to hold your hand and tell you what you need to do with your life, you aren't going to get a good answer for your situation. Especially not on a forum full of people who are obsessed with the game already.

Don't let it happen. Though going to parties isn't my favorite activity, games come and go. Go out, have fun with friends, do your schoolwork.

Play games for a couple hours on the weekend; you'll be much better off.

Uhm. I think OP was being kind of sarcastic. I don't think hes looking for life lessons on the TES boards.

Try to detract from playing and focus on your more important social life.
If nothing is going on at the moment, play MOAR Skyrim.

One would hope, and you can easily assume he's just doing another "Hahah, nerds with no life" post--but he could also actually be sincere.

It's a minigame where you have to match pie shapes and hope that your money, looks or intelligence impress people enough so that they will fall for your scams. If you get good enough, you can even become the president of the US, or a "dictator" in some other country.

I learned to balance a while ago - the game woun't go anywhere, I can always play it later. But I get your concern - in high school all I wanted to do was play my current favorite game as well... Or discuss playing it with a friend who although enjoyed it :)

Social life is overrated, it's cool when it works, but it svcks when it doesn't. At least Skyrim won't argue with you.

Social life all day. Skyrim will always be there to play but you only have one social life and without a doubt i prefer partys and shiz with my friends over any game.

Am I the only one who can find time to play without it consuming all their time? And OP, if you're really worried about playing too much, I wouldn't make parties the issue. Focus on school and where your life is going, not on some people who you won't know six years from now.

I doubt this is a serious thread, but I'll give a serious response in case it is.

If you're so certain that one is incompatible with the other, then determine which is more important to you and go with it. No one here can tell you which that will be.

Man, the two don't compete much, because your pretty much have one or the other... you can't have both... I'm sure there will be those who try, but sooner or later one will kill off the other.
