Hi guys,

Is there a chance to add Oculus and HTC Vive support into Skyrim ?

I would buy special edition if it had VR support.

I don't know if Beth has plans for the Skyrim SE right now.

Bethesda has opened a new division of the studio devoted to making VR games.

The first of those games will be a VR version of Fallout 4 for the HTC Vive and is due out in 2017.

But they can have plans in the future. It (may) depends on how people will react to that new release if it comes out on October this year.

I recall in one of those old interviews while VR was on drawring boards.....Beth...and I Think it was Todd himself saying they had zero interest in doing VR games......How times change eh?

Still I guess they would say its good business practice to be adaptable = fair enough

But it also makes you realise that statements and promises are made on shifting sands hmmm......

I thing that statement was on March 2016. (but I'm not 100% sure)

"Zero interest" usually means "there's not a big enough market for it yet".

No mate.....what I hazily recall was spoken by the great man in one of those rare filmed interviews he does, like maybe 4 years ago. He was emphatic that Bethedsa was simply not interested in VR.....I think I remember there also being a statement at another time about them not straying out of single player title territory too.....then came ESO!

I would look it up, but honestly I can't wade through all that you tube stuff to find it.....suffice to say.....plans change radically and in all interviews developers speak as their belly guides them and funding switches projects with the wind ;)

Well, 4 years ago is quite some time. Obviously their interest has changed. (as everything on the gaming industry lately.)
