Skyrim Strategy Guide

Post » Wed Dec 14, 2011 2:13 am

Does anyone else have a hard time finding the prima strategy guide for skyrim? The other bethesda games (oblivion/fallout 3 and NV) I had no problem getting a guide, not at release nor the weeks after, but with skyrim everyone is out of stock, or selling at skyhigh prices. Our gamestops always have guides, but this time they said they never had one for skyrim, or the low number they had where all sold with preorders. My typical bookstores claim it's not released yet, meaning they probably never had any.

Found a few on auction sites, but all from united states, I'm located in europe.

Yes.

The books i have found have either been out of stock or too over-priced.

I would like a stratagy book but im not going to pay more than i paid for the actual game.

I got lucky. The guy at gamestop said, don't worry... no need to preorder that we will have plenty. So at 11:00 come to find out they only have enough for the preorders. So I called walmart after their midnight party and they had a stack of the prima guides and one collectors edition sitting on the counter at 2 or 3 am in the morning. Got down to the store and paid the 40 bucks or whatever and got the last one there. Check walmart if anything else. BTW amazon.com might ship there. I don't see why not since I buy chess software from germany. http://www.amazon.com/Elder-Scrolls-Skyrim-Prima-Official/dp/0307891372/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1323079410&sr=8-1 but good luck finding a collectors edition.

had no idea they would be so hard to get, I mean the previous games was easy enough.

amazon ships to here, I see they have some used ones. not too familiar with amazon, can't tell where the books are located.

Barnes and Noble had them... check online and you can submit a request for whichever local store has it to pull it from the shelf for you to pick up within three days. They also had a 30% off coupon on one item, which I was able to apply to my purchase!

I doubt that deal is still available, but you might get lucky.

Thanks for the link, ordered the book. Was $16 and about $11 for oversea shipping, still cheaper than what they sold it for here when in stock, was around $45

What gets me is the Collector's Edition ones: I spent a while waiting for the UK retailers to get them in stock, eventually lost patience and ordered one from Amazon US for about £20. Now I see them being advertised for over £100 (though according to Ebay that's a bit optimistic: still, at a glance, the average going rate is still somewhat over £60 by the look of it) which is just nuts. I know it's the CE version, but even they're not normally that hard to get hold of.
