Skyrim co-op

Post » Wed Dec 07, 2011 11:21 am

I was playing skyrim and I realized it's realy difficult to hunt and fight multiple opponents. I then thought it would be interesting if co-op was a option for a dlc. You could have x amount of friends join your game in the world as it based of your characters interactions with the game space. Friends bring in their weapons and armor and all that stuff that they have on them into your game. They then have roaming capabilities if they decide to go to one end of the map say to forge something or get ingredients while you go somewhere else. Full freedom given to main player and friends joined. Friends can hunt together, fight together, raise skills and guard eachother, do quests together, possibly share the treasures they come across. And even fight eachother. Who wouldn't want to see vampires vs werewolves. Players could hire hirelings and have a mass hunting party in difficult situations like raiding giant camps. They can play tactically to take down the dangerous beasts that roam the magnificent land of skyrim! Please share ideas and comments :D

I enjoy the idea but would you really want one of your dike friends running off in the middle of a game and raiding all your dungeons for valuables without you knowing?

I think it would be nice option to have, and stating clear "No" makes no sense at all.... It would be up to player if they want to Co-op with some one or not, no one would [censored] force you to do it. So shush :flamethrower:

I think a 2-player co-op in which both characters have to stay together would be fun. No more than 2 players though, and not through an online server or something. Of course only one could be Dovahkiin. It kind of reminds me of the multiplayer from Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate 2 (which if you claim to be an RPG nerd you WILL have heard of and played). In that multiplayer, 5 friends could join you in your party but only one person could be the Spawn of Bhaal...

Skyrim is not about multiplayer, it is about YOU and YOUR story. It will never happen. If multiplayer was implemented, the game would be no where near as good as it is, ALL other aspects would suffer.

Dude you're [censored] pushing me to make a Mod for Co-op... I did same at Oblivion just to annoy people like you.
No one would FORCE you (mr caps) to play Co-op IF you don't want!

That's why I think you should be able to kill friends. How would you counter that from happening if you could?

You don't understand. The VANILLA game would greatly suffer, people don't buy this game for MP. Make a MP mod, thats fine, but it should never be included in the vanilla game. Everything good about this game would be lessered if they did MP, how can't you possibly understand?

Co-op wouldn't likely be mandatory or anything but I think it could be useful if it was like 2 or 4 people. Just a idea. But It would be difficult and conflict with the amazing single player experience in one way or another

Not going to happen. This is one of the few worth while single player games left. What you describe already exists and its called Word of Warcraft :snoring:

I suppose if the implemented a system where if your friends progressed certain dungeons in your map, it didn't count against you and only counted towards their game I would be fine with it, but that is asking for a lot of development in a DLC. I would rather have extended content to this already massive game and the assortment of bugs prevalent in the current iteration of the game cleared out. The idea is pretty good, but TES has and probably always will be a Single Player only game.

Only thing about MP in Skyrim which I like is being able to fight with a friend (PvP Arena) and that's that.
I would personally never do a full Co-Op in a TES game (simply doesn't attract me).

Honestly my reason for thinking this is cuz I keep getting my butt kicked by everything bigger than me excluding dragons. They always team up on me if they are bigger than me. That's why I thought co-op would be cool.

Perhaps though, playing the devil's advocate, a non-quest item/spell exchange service could be usefull.

Bathesda have already said there will be no multiplayer in Skyrim. It was not considered when designing the games systems and as such wouldn't be possible / easy / worth the investment.

There is an official thread around here somewhere for discussing multiplayer in TES.

I find the idea of a co-op feature in a future TES incarnation interesting, though with Skyrim not so much (I would rather have more content or issues fixed).

My sister and I both play Skyrim rather obsessively, and agreed that some kind of co-op mode would be fun, since companions are basically that anyway, and they svck.

Besides, it doesn't mean they have to go full-on online. Just like, a LAN mode.

issues fixed and content would be better. If co-op ever happens and i hope but doubt it, it can definitely wait
