More generally, do you think we'll ever see a Skyrim 2.0, that is a major update where everything gets enhanced, from texture resolution to physics engine, to map scale and questlines/storytelling?
The PS4 has been announced, and will not be compatible with previous games. Also, Valve is porting Steam to Linux. The next-gen consoles as well as the new supported OS will need flagship titles to drag customers... Do you think Skyrim could get ported to those new running environments?
Such a portage could be an opportunity to implements features that the Devs did not have the time to put in the initial release or the DLCs. For example, the monolithic throne initially envisioned in Whiterun, or the Windhelm Pit, or the ability for the player to make profit by harming a local economy. Some questlines could be expanded, or made more intricate by interaction with other questlines. For example, your progression in the Dark Brotherhood main quest could affect the Civil War, and the Civil War could also affect the Dark Brotherhood. New factions could be added. More consequences could be added to some choices of the player. The physics engine could be tweaked to allow Volkhiars to passwall through ice.
Do you think such a major update could realistically occur?
