...I didnt want Sky on this gen, especially since it appears to be hindering the game so much.

What, then, was Sony thinking?

That 640 KB would be enough, most surely

Yeah, I'm calling this a fake. Todd Howard just recently said that people shouldn't be holding out for next gen consoles, he said 2014 at the earliest.

How does it feel to discuss a fake article for 5 pages???......

Bethesda Games take about 5 years to develop... So... It is still plausible that they are aiming to make the next one for next gen consoles.

Hmmmm...think the next gen consoles will have mod support or something for those who don't have a good enough PC to run some games, so the console fans can take part in all the user created content? Most likely just wishful thinking.

I wouldn't be surprised if Fallout 4 is released on the current gen.

My only worry for TES VI is whether or not Beth produces a new IP after Fallout 4 and before TES VI.

That's a big mistake for such a large corporation with a history of gaming/computing hardware to make, I take it.

Evidence of a new console generation maybe?

I think your right... I thought this immediately... They said 95% of their fans are on the consoles... But what i really think is that, their won't be another Elder Scrolls intill a new console is out... I can see another Fallout after this if a new console isn't released.. But it could also be a warning to both Sony and Microsoft... Meaning, if you want our games, make a new console...

Devkits for the next consoles are probably gonna be out to developers in Mid 2012 so there can be launch titles for them...Or if not devkits at least hardware specs....

I kinda think of consoles as laptops without screens....you can't really upgrade( well laptops more RAMz and a different HDD/SSD) but i'd like to see the next consoles have at least upgrade-able RAM( and by that i mean off the shelf RAM, not stuff provided by M$ or $ony)

Yeah, because it would have been released so much sooner if we had waited for the next generation of consoles or been so much bigger if development would have been limited to the much smaller amount of resources that would have been financially feasible to invest in a PC only title.

they have taken the consoles as far as they will go. Their next game will be one of the first on the next gen of consoles, which I theorize are going to have ipgradable graphics cards to be able to compete with the versatility of pc.

Even if that was possible they would still have to stick with the bare minimum unless Developers want to risk it and cut profits in half for requiring such. Proved successful with N64 yes but the games that did it were exclusive titles.

And yes mod support again will happen no reaosn not too unless MS wants to hog their network for unkown reason.. But the choice will be limited even with good hardware

Next generation TES will be double the size if not more..

That's cool. Hopefully that means the new generation of consoles will be out in 4 or so years. I hope that their first IP on the next generation isn't Elder Scrolls VI though, and more along the lines of Fallout 4. I'd rather they cut their teeth with the new tech on a game that isn't Elder Scrolls, so that their attempt on it will be much less flawed. If they had prior experience with the 360 then Oblivion may have been all they made it out to be.

They would stick with the bare minimum, surely (as one does for lower end PCs), but the benefits would simply be for those console players who upgraded their consoles... assuming that will ever be a possibility. Out of curiosity, is it possible to overclock one's console hardware? :P

Fallout 4 will be a next-gen launch title releasing in 2014. Elder Scrolls VI will probably be released in 2017.

I dont believe there next project whatever it is will be next gen considering the amount of engine work they have done and as of august of last year that next game has been in pre production.

No, but consoles only have 2 or 3 generations left after this one IMO.... eventually they get replaced by something new....if its M$ Xbox PCs and $ony PS-PCs, thats fine, but eventually, they'll be gone...

True, but assuming you are running Windows Vista/7 then the OS needs atleast 1GB or so. The OS on the Xbox is limited to 32MB of RAM if I remember correctly. I hope to see the new consoles with atleast 2GB of RAM.

Or hopefully, Upgrade-able RAM and y im pretty sure its 32 MB myself, 512 MB video cache from HDD memory....but i could be wrong on both of those....

The question is would Beth use their shiny new "Creation engine" for just ONE game; Skyrim? It would make more sense (finacially) to use this same engine for another game. That game is probably already in preproduction, just like Fallout 3 was during Oblivion.

I want that game to be "Fallout 4", but would that be too soon after FO:NV? We certainly don't want COD syndrome.

Considering they even wondered wheter they should have made Skyrim for the next gen it was pretty obvious FO4 is gonna be on the PS4 and Xbox 720 (assuming names obviously)

I read an article that Todd Howard said that Skyrim was going to be the last Bethesda Game Studio game on the 360 and PS3. What are your thoughts?

Of course it will be , being that PS4 and Xbox 720 are estimated to emerge around 2014 I'd guess yeah ... they won't be making one on the 360 or PS3 .
This gives the PC an advantage though .... after they finish skyrim , they will work on DLCs for about a year and after that they'll start working on a new game ... be it Fallout 4 , a new installment to the elder scrolls or even something we haven't even heard about yet , it'll definitely be released on the PC first , and then ported to the consoles a few years later . That's awesome really because it means it'll have UBER graphics !!
