Skyrim the last Bethesda Games Studio game on 360/PS3

Post » Mon Aug 08, 2011 4:36 pm

This will definitely be the last Elder Scrolls game for the PS3/360. As to this being Beth's last game on the current gensystems, I would have to disagree and say that Fallout 4 will be the last game that Beth makes for the current systems.

btw, a new IP means a new game, not a sequel... at least from what i understand IP to mean.

Youre right. I meant to say a new project, not a whole new intellectual property
We're probably 2-3 years out on new console launches... so its possible tes6 launches with it, as long as they don't make any other games.

They announced another project in August of last year if I recall correctly

Considering they were planning on waiting for the new hardware cycle before they started Skyrim, then yes this is the last game on the Ps3 and X360.
TES VI will be on the next consoles. (probably coming in 2013-2014)

Nah, it will be more like 2016-2017. They will probably alternate between the TES and Fallout titles with the next Fallout title arriving in your 2013-2014 range. Remember, Oblivion was 2006.

My thoughts, new generation of consoles will allow for better graphics for all.

Cool, that means that the new console will be out in the next 5 years or so and their next game will be one of the first games to come out with it. Now, this is all me thinking theoretically by the fact that the gap between Oblivion and Skyrim was 5 years or so.

Still awhile away though >.>

Skyrim is gorgeous isn't it?

Yes... maybe. You know what I'm going to say, probably. I want to see ___ ___ _______.

Anyway, it's pretty, indeed, but next-generation games should blow it out of the water and I'm having a hard time imagining what they would actually look like... and I'm having a hard time imagining myself actually playing said games. Skyrim looks like it does on the current console generation. What would another generation leap do for Bethesda visuals?

I would be shocked if we saw Fallout 4 in 2013. I think it'll be late 2014.

@Seti I want to see PS3 footage too. I'm starting to doubt if we will see it any sooner than right before release though.

Next gen will be releasing late next year if it doesn't no games would even be released other then companies such as Activision with COD repeats. Assassins Creed revelations is the last game on current generation and Ubisoft already stated if they MS and Sony did not release a new gen they would go PC exclusive because the current hardware is holding them back too much.

Hmmmm...think the next gen consoles will have mod support or something for those who don't have a good enough PC to run some games, so the console fans can take part in all the user created content? Most likely just wishful thinking.

I'm starting to doubt this game is even coming to the PS3. They sure aren't treating it like a PS3 game... or referencing the console's existence. :brokencomputer:

Wow, that's interesting. It would be hilarious if a lot of developers started to do this.

There already starting.. look at DICE they refused to have the PC version of BF3 limited to console hardware so they made it primary for PC then downgraded/scaled down/cut whatever they needed to run on consoles

For next-generation consoles? I doubt that. They don't really need just as much RAM as a PC to achieve the same things and 8 gbs is kind of pushing it for a modern PC, isn't it?

8GB is not that much and Ram is cheap now days.. more the marrier because if they put 4GB the console would go out of date in lesser time then 8GB

Personally, I'm glad they went ahead and released Skyrim on this generation of consoles. For one, I don't have to upgrade my computer for it. Secondly, Oblivion was released at the beginning of the console cycle and as a result was a horribly optimized resource hog. I would just as soon the next gen consoles be out long enough for them to be familiar with the technology before their next release.

Evidence of a new console generation maybe?

Yup :D. Which will mean Fallout 4 will be on the next gen :celebration: (fingers crossed Obsidian is developing it again).
