Is Skyrim the LAST Elder Scrolls?

Why would Bethesda stop their most successful series?
Skyrim will not be the last TES game.

I agree, if they are going to end the series that's how I'd like it to end.

A game set in the whole of Tamriel wouldn't necessarily mark the end of the series.

Tamriel is just one continent on the planet Nirn. There's a lot they could do outside of Tamriel.

well thats up for bgs to decide, but probably not. if they did what ever tes title that happens has got to be mainly revolving around that.

There's just so much more they can say and do. Stopping with Skyrim is just inconceivable.

Yes this is the last Elder Scrolls. The Talking Walnut told me... I was on my way to see Davy the Giant Pink Gorilla in the gumdrop forrest when the Talking Walnut and his unicorn friends stopped me and told me the news...

NO!!! This is not the last Elder Scrolls game... and anyone who thinks so needs to get their head checked...

Well that could end the "Elder Scrolls" part of the Series and move to another continent with a whole new story that'd be an interesting event.

The Elder Scrolls X: Return of the Dwemer

well even so I have to agree its all but not happening, since in the Tribunal we learned more about their disapearance and without spoiler it wasn't simply vanishing since they did leave their traces behind.

Its called clever writing. Taking the past works and creating a story that ties the past ones together, making them the events that lead up to the end of the Third Era...and then Skyrim being the first of the Fourth Era. There are an undisclosed amount of Elder Scrolls. They can make as many Elder Scrolls games as they wish. As long as there's money to be made, there will be another scroll.

Its not going to be, but I wish it was, at least the last taking place in this particular chronology. Skyrim should end on an epic, world-changing, metaphysical event that transcends the gaming experience and is impossible to follow. The next games could take place prior to it - theres certainly no shortage of time to cover.

From the Sermons:
Late is the lover that comes to this by any other walking way than the fifth, which is the number of the limit of this world.

Ending on the fifth game would be beautifully poetic, in my mind.

going backwards would never work, it would be confusing to have a new big event that needs a hero but no one talks about it in the games that take place after wards.

That's like 15-20 years to wait for all of them.

could any one even fathom what/how advanced a TES game would be in 20 years? and not just graphics wise, but in terms of having better device storage and just have more space to put content in games.

The Alessian Rebellion. The War of Righteousness. The Camoran Usurper. Tiber's conquest of Valenwood. Uriel V's invasion of Akavir. Night of Tears. War of the First Council. Siege of Orsinium. The Ra Gada. The Rise (and Fall) of the Alessian Order. The Tsaesci invasion of Tamriel. The Potentates. The War of the Red Diamond. The Five Year War.

And those are just the events with names.

There are plenty of events already in history that we could explore, and a thousand years which we have no information about.

The Elder Scrolls is Bethesda and Bethesda is the Elder Scrolls.

As long as Bethesda is around they will be making an Elder Scrolls games. That is
beyond doubt.

These games have defined them.
