Skyrim - the Movie

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 9:58 pm

I was sitting there watching a movie and realised I want a Skyrim movie so bad. Main questline pitted together with the rebellion. I want!

But what do you guys say? Yay? Or Nay? What cast?

A movie in the Elderscrolls world would be great, but not just about skyrim.

YES!!! there is one trailer that showed in some movie theaters, but I assume that it was for the game, you can find it on youtube. The representation, though made it look like there was goin to be a movie!
I would love to see an entire Elder scrolls movie series. Maybe by RON Howard? Those guys from "300" would over do it a bit , I think. Clint Eastwood is a great director too. He did Letters From Iwo Jima, and Flags of Our Fathers.
I think , AT LEAST, from Morrowind on up would make a fine series. The problem might be that it is such a nich market. I used to work in films and know that a major Production company doesn't like to dish out too much money if they dont think EVERYONE will come out to watch it.

No thank you, most game adapted movies are horrible. Alot of producers and directors do not know how to give it a more realistic feel. Then just going along with the gameplay and lore. I know I sound strange but the best one I have seen lately is Prince of Persia. Because they focused on the story instead of the gameplay. WORST GAME MOVIE EVER: MARIO BROS!!!!.........

As long as the movie contains dragons that fly backwards, and that sequals are called patches.

A movie on Skyrim would be awesome.
Next to warcraft (Blizz) lore, the elderscrolls lore is my favorite.
I love wikiing about the ES lore as I'm playing the game. It makes me enjoy the game alot more.

Yay, infact I'd love to see all the TES games turned into movies and released in a box set.

Someone watched Dragon Hunter? The history is about a Chosen One that should be trained to defeat the dragons that are coming. The movie has a very RPG touch (elfs, orcs, thieves, mages, etc...). The history is like Skyrim in some aspects, but the production is [censored], and the dragons of Skyrim looks better than the one in the movies. I don′t recommend at all...

Here′s it www.imdb.com/title/tt1290472/

THe main problem i can see is what the main character would be. would he be a mage? a warrior? an archer? an assassin? a elf, human, orc? does he enchant or smith? both? niether? which side does he help? does he bring companions along? too many choices for one movie imo.

I'd say he'd be a Nord Warrior, coming back home to Skyrim and being dragged into it all, just like the game. Of course he'd get Lydia to follow him around, and then they fall in love and well, so there we also get a love story built into it all :D

I also thought about that before, there's a lot of potential in TES world for a movie, especially with all the unique fantasy elements and settings that have been created over the years.

They just need a good small story about characters you really care about, inside a bigger story of a huge war, like the Thalmor invading again or the Oblivion gates. Just throw some dragons in the mix and you got yourselves a movie

Are you serious  He would just be a dragonborn, probably nord and thats all. No side quests or skills like smithing would be involved. Have you ever seen a movie adaptation of the game that is EXACTLY like that game?

Only if they start it with the main character as a prisoner and they make some sort of joke like "I've never had this happen before." and the main character sighs and says "It happens to me a lot..."
