Skyrim is the next Game Informer cover!

Post » Tue Aug 25, 2009 10:23 am

Well, this is great news... But I expect that I'll have to hunt for scans on the internet before getting a hard copy.

(Plus: Vindication for the optimists in the speculation thread!!!)

Hey, way to connect McNamara's tweet with the Feb. cover! I guess I need to tone down that skepticism of mine! :P

*turns down skepticism meter*

@Antibody: thanks for posting this! I can't wait to see some screenshots!

*Looks at sig*

So, enjoying that $1000? :P

You know on the GI site they said that they have been working on the story for months so thats a good sign, but think that means right around the time when Todd said "we are ready to announce soon but now isn't the time" (parapharsing) that is when GI probably knew about this. I wonder how many of the GI employees have been on this site laughing at how much we were talking about TESV. But hopefully they looked at some questions we had so they ask good ones.

GI employees must either have amazing willpower or be under extremely tight NDAs. Knowing about amazing games like Skyrim months before the rest of the world must be more of a burden than a blessing.

http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2010/12/13/the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim-coming-next-issue.aspx

I kind of figured this was coming, but it's still good to know for sure. This means that not only will we get information in the issue itself, but we'll have a dedicated Elder Scrolls hub on Game Informer's website, which will be revealing new information online all month for everyone to see.

Examples of Hubs from previous issues:

http://www.gameinformer.com/p/arkham2.aspx
http://www.gameinformer.com/p/infinite.aspx
http://www.gameinformer.com/mag/bulletstorm.aspx
http://www.gameinformer.com/p/dragonage2.aspx
http://www.gameinformer.com/mag/gearsofwar3.aspx
http://www.gameinformer.com/mag/infamous2.aspx
http://www.gameinformer.com/mag/portal2.aspx
http://www.gameinformer.com/p/resistance3.aspx
http://www.gameinformer.com/p/tombraider.aspx

Darn it no sneeky peeky of TES V SKYRIM cover! Definitely looking forward to checking out GAME INFORMER when it hits the stands.

Thanks a ton xXAntibodyXx for the Hubs from previous issues links. They've got some amazing covers and wallpapers with plenty of different resolutions like my current 1366x768.

I would but chances are I'll just make a brand new thread with a list of all the new info in the article. That is assuming someone doesn't do it before me, of course.

I can't seem to find the Game Informer issue from this month which is supposed to have some TES special.
It's not available in my country so I'm in a bit of a bind. :flamed:

I'm getting a subscription *just* for the Skyrim cover. I'm thinking about getting the digital version, since I'm pretty sure the hard-copy turnaround for a new subscription would be longer than the actual release of the issue.

Its just the history of TES, you know all the games since TES:Arena. Some interviews here and there, a map of Tamriel( Not official I guess), and just something I found EXTREMELY suspicious.

I cant wait to get my issue in the mail. It should be a pretty in depth article, hoping for at least 6 pages. It may be our first screenshots of Skymir. :hubbahubba:

I have one word for you, just one: calipers.

Imagine, if you can: 34 different sets of calipers, realistic caliper physics, 100+ caliper-based quests. I would say over 70% of the man-hours put into Skyrim so far have been toward the goal including more calipers in the game by any means necessary.

Is it true?

Is it real?

We can finally realize our dream of wielding the great Ex-Caliper! HUZZAH! HUZZAH!

I really can't believe everyone was so accurate with the speculation. Nearly everyone predicted the cover and a lot of people the VGA announcement.

Sooooo many GI covers were guessed, every convention that came up in 2010 was guessed to have ESV.

To say that it was accurate speculation is laughable at best.

He's gonna give $5 in January and $1 annually for the next 995. I thought the terms sounded pretty fair... :P

We were way off for the August cover, but the evidence once again pointed strongly to an eminent reveal. I personally didn't think it would come quite this soon...not that I'm complaining! :P

I'm extremely excited. Are there any public places where I could pick up a copy (when it comes out, that is) without getting a subscription?
