This game really made me dislike Nords. I found them uninteresting before, even after the Pocket Guides, but now I'm just sick of them. Any group of people that falls under the "Proud Warrior Race" category tend to annoy me after too much exposure.

Then I guess you hate Redguards too since they are a proud warrior race

I haven't been overly-exposed to them, so I'm pretty "meh" about them at the moment like I was with Nords back in Oblivion. I'd like to keep it that way.

Current Nords svck compared to the Nords before the 4th era, that's for sure.

They're proud because they have the skills to back it up. Unlike the Nords, who go all Leeroy Jenkins on their opposition and hope to win.

The ancient Nords nearly conquered most of Tamriel. Not to mention that those Nords you seem to dismiss are consistently mentioned to be the Empire's strong arm.

And that potentially involved pillaging and [censored]. Yeah, we get it.

Really? Cause the Nords pretty much danced all over Hammerfell. Also Highrock.

...so? They won because the Redguards were divided in two factions. Though them attacking their own half-kin, the Bretons, was uncalled for. Hence why Nords are berserkers. Attack first, ponder the consequences later.

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Skyrim destroyed the combined forces of http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Hammerfell and http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:High_Rock and took many miles of eastern parts of those provinces, including the cities of http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Elinhir and http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Jehenna.http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:War_of_the_Bend%27r-mahk#cite_note-PGE3Sky-53

Doesn't sound divided to me.

Two words: Crowns and Forebears. Those are the Redguard factions I talked about.

The war is detailed in the PGE 3rd Edition for Skyrim, which specifies that Skyrim only faced one of the two major Redguard factions. However, I don't remember any details about the High Rock forces. Still doesn't seem to be a victory to sneer at though, and it wasn't even at some Nord height of power. This was 240 years ago.

Thats like saying the Chimer/Dunmer rolfstomp the Nords because they destroyed their armies, shamed their greatest mortal tongue and killed their dragonborn king twice though...

A single battle or war doesn't say much about a race.

High Rock is like the Westeros of Tamriel even more embroiled in Civil conflict than Hammerfell. During the third era they were pretty much city states for the most part as evident during the war of Betony. The crowns that the Nords fought against are also the weaker and more backward faction in Hammerfell having not sided with Tiber Septim during his conquests.

Eh, In Oblivion I didn't think much of them.

Now, they don't really have a special place in my heart.

Through the last two games my opinion of Nords varied from neutral to "who are they?" My opinion changed when I walked into the Gray Quarter. Its a little thing, but that shows how attached I am to my Dunmer characters.

Hope you don't support the Empire since Morrowind hates it.

I've been playing mostly as Nords in Skyrim because I like playing as the native race, and while doing so, I've grown more fond of them than I have been in the past. Forum posters have had no effect on my opinion.

I'm becoming increasingly un-sympathetic to Nords thanks to both in game characters and this forum. Nords want to be on their own then they also get to deal with their own problems. their problems aren't my own.

Personally I have to say while I grew more fond of Nords after playing Skyrim (never really cared for them before) there are also a lot of aspects that make me dislike them as much as I like them. I guess it makes sense for Bethesda to make every main race so far a shade of grey.

My opinion hasn't changed. I've always been neutral to them and will remain so, now as to whether or not my characters are neutral to them are a completely different matter. Fanatics, both in and out of game, haven't made me like them less or more, really. After all, in the end, it doesn't matter whose cold [censored] sits on the throne by the end of the war, because when the Aldmeri Dominion cometh knocking again..That's what matters to most of my war supporting characters in the end, though I did roleplay a diehard supporter for the Stormcloaks.

She's still called Kyne, at least sometimes.

From Arngeir's translation of the Greybeards greeting to the Dragonborn, "(...) In the name of Kyne, in the name of Shor and in the name of Atmora of Old."

Dude, you know it isn't just Rolff. Complaints about the Nords' xenophobia are everywhere in Skyrim.

It probably isn't that simple. Otherwise how would you explain the fact that Hammerfell succeeded in defeating the Dominion while the Nords failed?

Sure, you could say it's because the Emperor didn't let them keep fighting, but they were in a sorry state at that point.

The same was never said about the Redguards battle against the Thalmor.

It doesn't matter to a god what you call them because they are what they are no matter what you believe.

Isn't that the entire point of the Stormcloaks?
