Anyone else think the troll looks kind of small in the screenshot compared to the art?

It would appear so. I dunno if this means we wont have interior cells though. It could just be that cave entrances will start in the exterior world cell and then there will be a door or transition somewhere inside. They can probably do this now with the way snow works now, since it wont fall through into the cave entrance.

This would be a possibility as we've seen Obsidian using a similar technique in New Vegas. Instead of doors they used a black spot at the end of a small cave entrance. It would sure feel a lot better than seeing doors everywhere :)

They showed that screenshot as a step in the process for this Paint-over, not to show what the game looks like. The paint over process wouldn't have changed from then until now, in fact the whole point is for them to improve what they already have. The Screenshots in GI are most likely the most up-to-date that they had.

NOPE I will bet you my soul they are not even close to the release stuff its all from like 2 yrs ago I bet

Considering that the gi article is the world exclusive reveal of skyrim I don't think they want to show really outdated screens.

That was nice to see and hear. Good piece of music. It's even nicer that it's so old. I liked the armour and the creature. Definitely enjoyable and this proves that the first vid with real game action will be astonishing. Thanks, BSG.

Yes I was thinking the same thing. They scale is so off that they look like two completely different monsters. The troll in the actually pic looks like the size of an oblivion skeleton and the troll in the concept art is the size of a mammoth.

Honestly I don't think the update lived up to the hype of 5/6 pages talking about it. Although it was an interesting concept art video, really shows how much time is invested into the fine details of all the artwork.

Not gonna lie, the trolls got tricked out. They're pretty scary looking now. And they've been walking around for two years then? Wow, they're really serious about this game. :celebration: Is it November yet?

Wow, the music was freaking awesome; the best part there by far. I always think brass/horns either work well or sound terrible - here, with the chorus, brilliant!

The screenshot is from two years ago. Or the artwork is. Somebody said something was from two years ago. It might have been the update. Where am I?

The pic of the troll. o.o The concept art was based on an ingame moment taken in 09. They took the freeze frame of the guy taking on the troll, and then the artist drew over it. That means that they've had that long to work on it, if my logic is correct.

Yes it is, dont claim to understand Advertising if you dont know all aspects of advertising, with 10 months to go you will have to wait till like 3-4 months from release to see actual close to release good stuff, as that will cause a new sales surge for the holidays. We can expect a trickle of lesser aspects ( from a casual players standpoint ) for the next couple months before we start seeing really great pics from in game and actual game montages.

Honestly, I wasn't very impressed by the update, but it was... interesting nonetheless. And trolls look pretty cool! :)

How they managed to keep this a secret is completely beyond me. I just wish that they'd held onto it for another six months. This is going to be a painful nine and a half months.

I guess they will talk combat and/or show some screenshots in the next update.

PS. Where did they say that the next update would be on Thursday? Link, please?

Everyone knew they were developing it. it just hadn't been officially announced.
