skyrim, too good to be true

WE'RE ALL GUNNA DIE!!!!!!! IN 2012 WE'RE GOING TO DIE AAAAAAHHHH! uh.. no...

If they delay it, then I won't have a problem, sure I will be upset, but I won't get all up in arms about it. If they delay it, then that means they needed more time which means it wouldn't be done which means a horrible unfinished lagging game. the more time, the better. Now that the hype for me has gone down ever since it was announced, I think I could wait a little longer.

No, because at a certain point, the technology will force them to update the game over again. So it would be a better game, but couldn't they just work on TES 6?

That wouldn't be the case for this game since the primary focus is on consoles. That technology is already out of date compared to PCs and it looks like it won't be catching up until 2015, when Microsoft plans it's to have it's next Xbox release.

They've been working on this game for a while, and Beth doesn't announce release dates unless they're very confident, I wouldn't worry.

And on the 2012 note.............The 2012 doomsday theory about the Mayan calendar say that the world will end on Dec 12th, not Jan 1st. GET IT RIGHT! Just kidding lol, couldn't help myself sorry!

Dec. 21st - The winter solstice. That is the end of the calendar. Not a doomsday theory, anyway....

OT: Skyrim won't be delayed.

They can always do what they did with Oblivion, and release a buggy, unfinished game that requires patches to be played properly :whistling:

Yea, the only game I see competing now is Uncharted 3.

BF3 grabs Uncharted 3 by the neck, swallows it at once, and spits it in pieces.

Besides, it releases by fall'11, too :)

I saw that ME3 was delayed as well. I don't think Skyrim will be delayed and hopefully this locks Skyrim into GotY.

Like Skyrim had to worry about ME3 anyway.

This^

Why doesn't DICE just announce a release date, btw? And the Beta could be anytime from this summer to Sept., for all we know. That makes me sad....

Not really a theory.... more of a hypothesis. Calling it a theory is giving it more credit than it deserves. Am I right... or am I right? :foodndrink:

And I love me some Mass Effect, but it's got nothing on Skyrim. Well, the way they present the story is pretty damn good, but overall, Skyrim by a mile.

I really would not mind in the least if Skyrim was pushed back, Like 11-11-11 matters, more time = more content

I see no reason why Skyrim would be delayed from the looks of it there well into development so theres not much chance they will find gamebreaking bugs that cause delays. "knock on wood" Oh and yeah theres hardly any Mulitplatform games that stand up to Skyrim, regardless what others say Skyrim will be my GOTY, thats all that really matters.

No, more time = less bugs. It is far too late in the development cycle to be introducing much of anything "new", so we are just waiting out the QA period while the beta testers are pounding out the worst of the glitches.

However, more testing is always welcome - especially given Bethesda's track record in the past.

They have been pushing 11.11.11 pretty hard. I don't think you have to worry about it.

But if it does get delayed, I would consider it a good thing. Better they fix the game and release it a little bit later, than release a game with noticeable bugs in it.

Unless Bethesda sufferer from some catastrophe like their development building burning down or experiencing a massive EMP blast, I think 11.11.11 is on track to be an awesome day. As for ME3 being delayed well i hope it's because BioWare have gone back to the drawing board in an attempt to salvage their reputation as a game developer.

With Mass Effect 3 delayed until 2012, there is more of a chance that Skyrim will win more GOTY for 2011! :)

No, it would be tragic :brokencomputer:
My mind is set on 11.11.11 and any delay can have serious consequences.

Always prepare for the worst. Since the world is going to end in 12/12/12, will it blow up due to the release of Skyrim?

Why would you delay it for a whole nother year off the back? Also. 12-12-12 only gives me a two or three weeks to play before the world ends :(

Haha, yes.

Also, 11.11.11 is already horribly late. I wouldn't want to wait until 12.12.12.

Mass Effect 3 never had a set date. They were targeting Holiday 2011, but I guess they felt they either didn't want to compete for "Greatest game of the year/RPG of the year" with Bethesda, or they really did need to work on the game a bit longer. Maybe a little bit of both factored in there.

Anyway, considering the first bit of info we ever got about Skyrim, was a MM/DD/YY release date, I'd be more surprised if it didn't make it, it wouldn't surprise me either, if that date was actually a conservative goal that they "Know" they can make, baring aforementioned catastrophe's such as an EMP blast, and that a retail-ready build of the game, might actually be ready before, at least as retail-ready as Oblivion was.

I'd say it's more likely that they get it done and release it early.

Who knows, maybe LA Noire nabs GotY? I still think Skyrim will get the majority of them though.
