I was thinking a bit in that line as well. The moon's dissolving, Lorkhan's heart being freed, ect. Perhaps you're correct in that the developers may decide to tackle the mirror-image issues between Lorkhan and Akatosh/Shor and Alduin.

that would possibly fit into the 11 theory

Those are not mustaches, but flames coming out of the mouth of the "Dragon Born".

Still having trouble with this. Its a bit clearer on the site, but I'm still having trouble seeing his mouth, unless its disproportionately huge and has really defined lips. Or maybe that is is mustache and the rest is the flames? If only that part is the mustache, he looks a whole lot like Tiber Septim.

Hey, what do you think the three kneeling people are? Are they the previous protagonists?

And there's something in daedric text above them.

Akulakhan is likely just a reference to prior events, like the Oblivion gate is.

I figured that, seeing it's before the oblivion gate under what seems to be the white gold tower repersenting the empire or cyrodill under invasion, and guessing like the rest having those images leading up to what's going to happen.

There have been more than 3 protags, and Beth doesn't really reveal their identity. My guess is that they are companions of some sort. I also don't see the Daedric :(

Do you think we can agree that the huge dragon is Alduin?

So at the end of the trailer, the narrator (max von sydow) says the dragon born and it pans http://i54.tinypic.com/2w2gf7t.jpg, who's attire looks http://images.uesp.net//a/aa/OB-npc-Baurus.jpg

Are we going to be another blades agent again?

There's what looked like daedric in a band above, the letters N, H and R, but its not very distinct, it could be a pattern.

I was imagining perhaps they were just representations of the Agent, the Nerevarine and the Champion of Cyrodiil, standing beneath the section with Akhulakhan and Oblivion gate. But I'm probably just wildly specuating here. Its more likely they're something else.

In Egyptian art, the more important characters were drawn bigger. They're probably important, whatever they represent.

Again, I'd say its set in stone (pun intended) that the Dragonborn is a guy with a mustache. Unless they force us to play as him, or we are a reincarnation/mantling of him, I don't see how we get to be Dragonborn without sacrificing choice.

Just pointing out that the italian, german and spanish subtitles for the trailer spelled the name of the Dragon Born 'Dovahkiin'. The french subtitles say 'Dovakhiin' - looks like a typo.

What? No love for the greatest of all the heroes, the Eternal Champion?

Right then, that's probably the official spelling. Let us consign Novac-Kid to the dustbin.

Thanks, edited that into the initial post :)

It certainly doesn't sound Akaviri (though our Akaviri knowledge is severely limited). Double I's only show up in Cyrodiilic, iirc.

Aye, they do, but then, Cyrodiil is heavily inspired by Akavir.

It feels more Asian to me than other things.

On the other side, remember "mother's coming to get me in the dragon-ships"? Speculation that that was a hint to the next game appears to be gaining in accuracy.

I just feel like throwing my two cents in, but I could be totally off, especially since my ES lore is nowhere near as good as other people on this forum.

But, to me, the three central figures look to be trying to hold the central dragon back, like they had caged it with magic. Thus, the game is about someone freeing them. I don't think this really fits any specific lore, but since many people have said that information about dragons is rather limited.

I'm also wondering if there's something behind the parts of the screen that make noise. I've found that both dragons on the left have a noise, the middle dragon, the Oblivion gate, and the "Dragon Born". Don't know what to do with that information however.

Also, I didn't think the "Dragon Born" looks like he's breathing fire, but more like dramatic voice, like Nordic thu'um. Just the way it's carved looks quite a bit different than the rest of the flames in the image.

My input is probably pretty useless, but there it is.

Thanks for everyone putting stuff up!

There is no mistaking that.

In the close-up scene, you clearly see the detail of the head, the metal helmet with a sharp edge on the top, sharp cheek bones, keen eyes, nose standing out, and under all of those the huge mouth and the flames coming out of it.

You can not miss all those details on the stone carving, which shows a great design skill, IMHO.

Can't say I'm too crazy about the whole Lorkhan thing. I like his mystery.

I don't know, the whole trailer/craving gave me a certain prophecy feel. Maybe the dragonborn being represented doesn't necessarily mean you not being him. If the Morrowind prophecy was carved in stone and the Nerevarine represented, would that have meant you wouldn't play as the Nerevarine? Skyrim may have nothing to do with any prophecy, but I sincerely think that it means absolutely nothing.

Yea, that sort of thing is really hard to do in game. It can be done in round-about ways, though, perhaps as a secondary story to something more corporeal. I suppose we'll see soon enough :)

Do we have any idea what the choir is singing? Is it in any real world language?

Yes they definitely do say that a few times, I would also like to see a transcript of what they say completely.
