Skyrim Vampire Clans

Post » Sun Apr 24, 2011 8:59 pm

Allright so in Morrowind there seemed like more Benefits from becoming a vampire way stronger, faster, etc. But what was cool was there were Vampire Clans which you could join and do cool quests. Lets face it in Oblivion it just wasn't as sixy... there were not many vampires and they were not Factioned. Overall Skyrim is perfect for vampires political turmoil, intense rugged conditions, secluded mountain ranges. What do you guys think?

Better than in Morrowind... those questlines were so short, i wish they were more like the great-houses. obviously morrowind was better than Oblivion though...

Being a fan of vampires in general, I would love to see such a thing.

Unfortunately, I kind of hate how TES does vampires.

So it would be something I'd love to hate, I guess.

yeah i mean Oblivion especially didn't really do anything with the vampirism... I think if they tried they could make a few awesome clans creepy and interesting and I'd be satisfied... I think they really need to make the benefits from the Vampirism more Exciting like Becoming super fast, having ridiculous Athletics & strenght, Speechcraft etc.

concerning vampires (sorry a little off topic) if you're wearing a hood, or a mask, or a closed helmet, then people shouldn't be able to notice you're a vampire. that would make being a vampire so much more accessible.

I think vamps have good potential for players who like to play darker character archetypes, or good-natured but cursed victims.
If they have the time to develop a decent vampire questline they should go for it, I found roleplaying vampires in modded MW fun.

Only if, when you get cured, they take it as a grave ( no pun intended ) insult and betrayal, and actively hunt you down.

I'd like a different type of vampire, like a badass version of the ones Oblivion had.. 30 Days of Night vampires..

That would be sick...maybe beastly aggressive vampires feuding with a clan of Classy, Bloodline Vampires

Volkihar clan vs the Order Clan. Nuff said. The Empire is in political turmoil in Skyrim right? There are pro-Empire and anti-Empire nords fighting each other. Maybe the vampires from Cyrodiil(The classy ones) venture to SKyrim to try and do something, as their areas is politics and influence.

Lets hope we get the vampire system of Morrowind back instead of Oblivion, but with more complex clans, quarters, quests and all that like a proper faction, was poorly done in Morrowind and even worse in Oblivion, lets hope they do it better now

Well I didn't like the fact that in oblivion the power you got as a vampire nowhere near offset the sun damage and lack of being able to fast travel during the day, not that I liked fast traveling but...what I mean is I hope they fix the gameplay of vampires in general before they make guilds or anything storywise

It makes sense. We have the Volkihar, the paranoid and cruel vampires who only go out to feed. They can easily be identified as savage and barbaric, the worst type of vampire in the eyes of the Cyrodilic Order of vampires. And the Order has a nasty reputation of being extremely competitive and merciless when it comes to dealing with rival tribes. We all know this from the books and lore. No doubt Janus Hassildor was on of these vampires, his dialogue matches what is written in the tenets of these vampires.

I don't know, but I have reason to believe they may return. SInce it's no longer the third era, they may want to make a new place of operations, or their "Stronghold" in the fourth era. Perhaps expand their territory and try to take over Skyrim as the leading vampire clan. In order to do that they would have to eradicate all other competitors, something we have read in "Immortal Blood". It would be great to see a show off between the Volkihar and the Order. Barbaric bloodsvcking monsters vs civilized bloodsvckers.

Well, they can walk in sunlight if they fed recently. It's part of a Daedric Pact they made with Clavicus Vile.

I was only very briefly a vampire in daggerfall, but wasn't daggerfall kinda like this? where Vampires go through different stages when the havent fed recently? (like getting progressively weaker against the sun)

Yeah I think thats the case... I actually love the stages concept my only problem is, and this was touched on by someone else, is that the benefits of being a vampire are not worth getting burned in daylight and freaking people out
