That's cool, although "Game of the Year" titles are given out like candy by every gaming review magazine, website and show, so they aren't terribly meaningful.

It was announced at the VGAs... I'm pretty sure they only announce it to one person. Not like candy. This is official. Look it up.

Inside Gaming gave them GOTY, too. Mainly because of how damn viral arrows are on the internet.

Same things happen with movies and music, only Video Games don't have an awards with the cultural weight of the Oscars or Emmey's. I guess it is up to the individual to decide which, if any, game awards is reputable enough to be considered "one of the official ones"
