Skyrim will not detect my NVIDIA graphics card

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 11:44 am

When I got home with my disk and installed skyrim I went into my graphic details to turn everything to Ultra as I'm running a very up to date computer. Then I noticed the game had chosen not my INVIDIA graphics card but my generic terrible one. I went to change it to my INIVIDA and it wasn't an option. I can't even run the game to a playable speed and it refuses to recognize my graphics card. PLEASE HELP! Much apreciated.

I have the same problem. My laptop has an intel integrated graphics card for desktop use and the geforce, which skyrim isn't detecting. FO3 detects the geforce but not the intel card.

Fixed it. Go to nvidia's control panel -> 3D settings -> global settings -> preferred graphics adapter. Select your nvidia card instead of auto-select. Skyrim will then detect it.

Enjoy the game!
