Skyrim will not have Cloth Simulation at all?

You can bet it has. Do you wanna know why?
Do you remember the kilt the PC is wearing in all of the screens?

Obviously the middle part of the kilt is waving between the PCs legs. So imagine how stupid it would look when the middle part wouldn't move when the player starts moving. There will be cloth simulation!!! REMEMBER MY WORDS!!! ;-)

I'm thinking there might not be a great deal of cloth movement, at least not in the clothing. Banners and such, yeah almost definately.

There's a screenshot in the mag of the character hunting a stag (pg. 49), in it he's wearing what looks like a long, belted tunic and is crouching down. The 'skirt' of the tunic is bending and morphing with the legs instead of falling like one would expect. And on page 59 in the image with the giant spider, the ringed loincloth seems anchored to the legs. That could be the screenshot being taken mid-movement though, things can look really weird that way.

I'm kind of more concerned about the armours being all one piece like Fallout because what we've seen doesn't seem to be mix and match between things, everything looks to go together. Could just be the same way they had the cover boy for Morrowind in bonemold and in legion armour for Oblivion. Yeah, that must be it. Hopefully. I'll wait for more info and screenshots before really starting to think anything.

I don't quite understand the large number of people that would excuse it not being in, or question what it adds to the game. Since Morrowind, (hey, even Daggerfall) Bethesda games have always, in a major way, been about visual quality and atmospheric presentation. No one is asking for full hair and robe material simulation - most games are rather clever and selectively animate small parts of models to convey enough of the impression of fluidity - but to omit a feature that has been around since before Oblivion and goes a long way to "selling" the movement of characters, well, like a potential absence of spears, this would be a let down and a disappointment because we expect Bethesda to have high standards!

Well said.

Heck, Two Worlds 2 had moving cloth - and hair -, and Reality Pump is far smaller than Bethesda is now. Of course the movement isn't very accurate, but it's still heaps better than none at all. I'd be honestly disappointed if Skyrim didn't have as much. A lack of cloth physics probably won't hinder sales, but it's seemingly small details like that that make for a more polished, and ultimately richer game. I remember seeing a quote from Todd (and of course I can't find it anymore) basically saying how much graphics matter to the immersion, and thinking how ironical it is that Beth games are getting more and more behind graphically.

I really hope that Skyrim will use Havok Cloth or something similar.

Ugh.
I really should leave this forum for a while, staying here has gotten me thrown off the hype train.
