Skyrim will be perfect

Post » Tue Sep 20, 2011 11:55 am

When it drops on 11 -11 -11, it will be everything I want it to be. I know this to be true because my expectations are simple! I'm not an unrealistic person that demands absolute perfection from Bethesda. I know that I've spent more hours playing Fallout 3, NV, and Oblivion than any other games ever made, so I KNOW that the latest installment will suffice. I don't understand why everyone is so nit picky. "The combat looks terrible, oh the blood came out of the wolf funny" ITS A VIDEO GAME. WE WERE PLAYING MARIO 64 JUST TWELVE YEARS AGO, BE GRATEFUL.

Geez people. Give them some credit where it's due! They've created an enormous open world with geographical complexities, they've made improvements to graphics, magic, diolague, and countless other things! They've added perks, made the interface awesome, included wildlife, added new skills ... You loved Oblivion right? You played Oblivion for like 3 years right? This will be better.

Am I the only one grateful for these things? I can't believe my eyes when I see the endless complaints

You've taken the word outs of my mouth, Bethesda pours its heart out over this game and all people have done is complain. We could easily be in our 6th summer of speculations with the occassional MMO rumor popping up and being debunked. I for one am thankful for all of Bethesda's work.

ITS A VIDEO GAME. WE WERE PLAYING MARIO 64 JUST TWELVE YEARS AGO, BE GRATEFUL.
12 years is an INCREDIBLY long time in this industry. And there were plenty of more advanced games 12 years ago beyond Mario Kart. And the way I look at it, Bethesda should be grateful people are showing interest, not the other around. Would you buy a substandard phone and say "Oh well, 12 years ago people were still using pagers"?

Interesting. So Its ok to say its Perfect, and not get slothed with "you haven't played it yet" or "wait until it comes out and then past judgement" but saying it won't is frowned upon?

oh my.

I'll bite, I don't think it will be Perfect.

But, if you are nobody literaly, then you do not exist, and you do, thus, perfection does not.

back in 1991, i played a game called Eye of the Beholder http://hol.abime.net/2903
I often thought about my ideal game, Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim would have been very close to what i would of thought perfection could be...
with the development in computer hardware and software design, there are many things i would like to see, Skyrim will not have everything i could ever possibly want in a game, i doubt that any game will ever manage to give me exactly what i want, because the goal posts move every time a new game comes out

Stephen Hawkings once said... it's built in to the Universe that there is no such thing as Perfection

It won't be 100% perfect to me, but the things i do dislike about the game are really minor so I can't wait til it comes out.

Their is not possible way I will not enjoy skyrim. Their are small little things that come up when I play oblivion and I say to myself ' i wonder if they fixed that in skyrim' but i always overlook it and continue to have fun. Their is no way they messed it up espcially from the videos i saw

There are some things I wanted that I didn't get, but it's as if Bethesda tailored the game just for me. Besides one or two things that will affect the gameplay so little that I won't even notice when I'm actually playing, the game sounds perfect... :tes:

No it will not be perfect. Nothing is perfect. Perfect does not and cannot exist.

Bethesda programmers are working with the top quantum physicists in the world to warp time and space to create a game that is not bound to any of the preconcieved tenets that this universe will hold against it. It will be perfect.

It won't be perfect. No such thing as a perfect game, not even the mighty Morrowind. Although I do think Skyrim will be GOTY 2011 for sure

No such thing as a perfect game, as its mostly up to the individual. Besides, if there weren't bad parts of it then there wouldn't be good ones either.

There we go, the most optimistic thread so far, and people are already off topic questioning perfection.

In any case, Yes, I think Skyrim will be Perfect for my gaming tastes, and the closest game to come to what i consider to be the perfect game.

perfect cannot be achieved people, because to reach perfection is to end the quest to achieve it, which is the grandest quest of all. reaching perfection is sad. and end, to which no beginning may reawaken. the quest for perfection, is, in itself, the perfect stage for use to link moments and make our own stories and live in perfect happiness.

there.

The same can be said about achieving perfect completion in an ES game. great achievement, but great sadness. nothing else to do. I think i will beat Skyrim's main quest in 2016.

i'm not the one who turned this into an existential debate. ;)

Agree with mostly everything, but the interfance isn't that good, by far the most terrible thing they did.
The UI doesn't look good for my taste, but whatever, that can be easily fixed by mods.

And that's why I love TES, we have the option to mod almost everything we dislike...that's awesome.
