Skyrim Withdrawal

Post » Fri Jun 14, 2013 7:55 pm

Ok, after about 35 hours of playing I can still see that Skyrim is hanging with me. I am getting better though.

I can't count the number of times I've hit 'M' expecting the map to pop up.

I keep thinking that if I am using a gun all the time that my gun skill is going up.

I look for floating arrows on peoples heads when looking for a quest NPCs.

I forget that I don't need a workbench to improve armor and weapons.

I sit and wait for my health to increase, not realizing that it won't increase on it's own.

I try to block and bash with a rifle butt.

I have to wonder how many of these things will be added to the next FO4. Dual welding pistols. That would be cool.

So anyone else have some prior game habits that followed them into FO:NV?

One serious question though, where the heck is the flashlight? I thought the pipboy had a built in flashlight but I can't seem to find a way to turn it on.

There is an implant you can buy from the New Vegas Medical Clinic that will regen your health, albeit very slowly.

And you can block using melee weapons. You just use the aim/zoom button.

For the Pip-Boy light hold down the Pip-Boy button(not just press it).

Dual wielding would make both pistols very inaccurate. To each their own though.

As for habits, I actually was squatting/kneeling all the time in Borderlands 2 trying to get more stability while firing. I felt silly after I realized it did nothing save for making me a slightly smaller target and slowed me down.

You sir, are a genius.

I am reading the Gunslinger books (listening to, actually) by Stephen King, and now, after reading your post, I want to dual wield pistols so bad I can't hardly think straight.

Are you kidding me! Dag nab it! If you had any idea how long I wandered around in the dark ...

Well thank you!

This is especially useful in some places rigged with traps. You will have to spot things around you in the dark.

No problem. I did the same thing in FO3.

Also, the "Cat Eye" chem gives temporary night vision. As does Nuka-Cola Quartz.
