Is Skyrim Your First ES Game?

Post » Thu Apr 18, 2013 9:29 pm

Nope, I played through Oblivion, and tried my hand at Morrowind, but couldn't get past the horrendous gameplay. Great story and wonderfully developed world though.

I've also played Fallout 3 and New Vegas. Now I'm looking forward to Fallout 4.
This is very close to where I'm at. Although, I played a good bit of Morrowind and even got Arena and Daggerfall. Those were attempted but were shortlived.

I also have the entire FO series. I played a little more of FO1 and 2 than Arena and Daggerfall, but not much.

I've tried the Original Fallouts, but I never did like isometric/turn based games...and I'm old enough to remember when Pong was considered new. As with Morrowind, I loved the story and the game world, but the gamplay is what turns me off.

nope i started with oblivion, basically spent high school playing that game. I've went back and played morrowind and tried daggerfall...but i'm not that dedicated to the series to try and deal with that game

Morrowind was sorta hard to get into, the gameplay was horrible...but after you know how it works you become a demigod with maxed agility and skill

Yup, first one for me though now I'm really curious about the earlier games Oblivion and Morrowind. Truth be told, by the time I get through everything I want to try in Skyrim (including the DLCs), the next TES will probably be out so I'll never get to Oblivion and Morrowind. Skyrim really scratches my itch, can't get enough.

It was my first.

I bought it in the summer sale after it was released.

I later bought Oblivion and I'm not far into it, my character became a vampire for some reason and he constantly takes damage. If I fast travel, I die. If i wait outside until night time, I die. If I try to run to a house to get away from the light, I die.

And he looks ridiculously ugly. He was a young redguard but his hair is all grey and he looks 3x his age now.

I have to agree. I try to tell myself I enjoy it, since I'm a very enthusiastic Fallout fan, but I find it hard to trudge through a playthrough. There's plenty of die-hard fans out there that worship the first two, as well. Good for them, not my cup of tea. Although they may be prone to murdering you with pitchforks if you ever tell them your preference.

Also, Morrowind's my first here. I have fond memories of watching my brother play through it, and starting my own as a youngling. Ahh, Bethesda. I've been trained to love you since childhood.

Arena, but not a whole lot. The PC I had at the time had trouble handling it >_>. I think...Ken's Labyrinth was my alternative at that time lol. I remember being angry that Arena did not work right, but for some reason I do not remember, I was unable to get whatever it was that I needed to make it work.

The first ES game I really played a lot was Morrowind though.

I started with Skyrim as well. I've since gone back to Oblivion and Morrowind, and while I love both games, they can't quite live up to my experiences with Skyrim.

Been playen since Morrowind. :D

" Finished " Morrowind, moved on to Oblivion and once I " finished " that ( by which I mean I did a good hulk of the questlines and all DLC's but as well closed all Oblivion gates ) and now here I am enjoying Skyrim to it's fullest. Still haven't tried all the available quests and there's still a couple corners of the map that I've never explored so I have yet to " finish " Skyrim.
