Is Skyrim your first TES game?

It was, although I've since purchased Morrowind and Oblivion.

I started with Daggerfall, years ago. Was fairly interesting, and compelling. Enough that I checked out Morrowind and enjoyed it, and had a reasonable amount of fun with Oblivion. I ended up pretty disappointed by Skyrim. Despite all its dressings, it isn't so different from its earlier incarnations, and although prettier, was far more shallow and superficial...and simply could not keep me entertained.

Oblivion was my first, but I got Morrowind 3 months later. Morrowind is my favourite of all the TES games.

Not the first but probably the last. If this series becomes anymore removed from it's roots there is no possible way I could enjoy it.

Morrowind was my first, then Oblivion, now Skyrim. And if TES continues the way way it is with Skyrim then it will most probably be my last.

Well, my experience with TES was kind of rough in the beginning. The first TES game I bought was MW, and the first TES game I played was Daggerfall. Here's why: back then, I was basically pc illiterate, I bought MW without paying attention to the requirements. Sure enough, my Windows98 desktop didn't have a good graphic card to run it:(

So, while MW was collecting dust, I bought Daggerfall, and funny enough, this game was either too old or my pc still svcked. In fact, I had problems with the installation and I actually played Daggerfall without background music--I thought the game was like that, until I saw a Youtube clip:(

In any case, besides the absence of music, Daggerfall played wonderful on my pc. Then I bought Redguard, wonderful game. And finally in 2003, when my brother brought his laptop to help him do some business documents in MSWord, to my surprise, the laptop was capable of running MW!!

I fell in love with Morrowind after a month of not liking it:)

Morrowind was the first that I bought, on Xbox, though I didn't really get into it. The game was so different and overwhelming for me at the time, that after a few characters who didn't make it far, I eventually traded the game in.

When Oblivion came out, I was starving for a good rpg for my PS3, and I was determined to figure the game out and have fun with the game, which I did. I made several characters from most of the races, though I settled on an Imperial Battlemage character. My Imperial completed all of the guilds, though after 400+ hours and increasing game instability, I had to abandon the character and never got back to the game.

With Skyrim, I knew what to expect for the most part, and have been playing the game off and on for the past year. After reading up on many of the bugs with the game and how most of which are addressed on the pc (specifically from the USKP), I bought a gaming laptop to play Skyrim on to experience the game with mods. I had thought of switching from consoles to pc gaming for a while, but it finally took Skyrim to convert me.

I remember playing alot in Daggerfall. Completely missed Morrowind when it was first released (tried it many years after with better graphics). Then upgraded PC just for Oblivion and played it alot.
But Skyrim is my favourite by far

That would explain the age and number of posts on the account. Much respect.

Oblivion. I then tried to play Morrowind but was put off by the old graphics and controls so I never got out of Seyda Neen. Now I can't play either, they give me motion sickness and migraines. Fortunately Skyrim doesn't.

He gave the option "wut?" which was pointless.

So I chose it.

That's strange that you found the TES forums after you played Skyrim, considering the fact that you have been playing 3 TES games. Unless, you bought them all in 1 year.

oddly enough, my first TES game was Morrowind, then Oblivion and finally Skyrim.

I'd rank them in terms of favorites a bit different, though (Skyrim, Morrowind, and then Oblivion).

Skyrim is my first TES game. I was looking for a new game to play over the Christmas holiday but something different. I kept hearing about all the hilarious bugs in this new game called Skyrim, normally I wouldn't even look at an RPG. After I got a good laugh I started watching gameplay videos on YouTube and I thought it looked really interesting. Since I was looking for something new I decided to get it and I was completely blown away. I had never seen anything like it. The sense of adventure is unmatached I just wanted to keep exploring the world, I had to keep going just to see what I'd find next.

I started with Oblivion and have been playing Skyrim for quite a while now too.. there are several things I really enjoyed about Oblivion, including the music (both in towns and outdoors) and sitting around the NPCs in the Imperial City as it was one of my favorite areas of the game. I also really enjoyed the Thieves Guild questline as well as The Fighters Guild and The Arena, and still did quite a bit after the Main Quest.

I've enjoyed my time in Skyrim and much like Oblivion I really love the music, though I miss some tracks from Oblivion. I like the Thieves Guild of Skyrim much like I had with Oblivion, and The Dark Brotherhood is up there for me as well.

Daggerfall was first. Never actually pursued the main quest in it, but had a lot of fun doing random quests. Practically anyone would give you a quest ... a random shopkeeper would send you to some huge dungeon complex after mummy wrappings or something. Even if you killed a lot of mummies and got their wrappings though, you had to find that quest item mummy wrapping that would be someplace in that dungeon.

People complain about the loss of acrobatics ... Daggerfall actually had climbing. You could scale the city walls. You could fly too, and vampires had it as a power. Back then it was an impressive looking game.

When the Nintendo N64 was released Zelda Ocarina of Time was released as one of (if not the) top game out for it so many (including myself) bought the game and it was a massive hit.

A few years on after mostly playing ghost recon and age of empires on the PC, I asked a friend if there was any open world adventure games with a similar save system to Zelda. Morrowind had only just been released and the rest is history. Here I am two games on :)

Oblivion was my very first TES game, then I played Morrowind after hearing a lot of good things about it here, and now it remains as my #1 TES game. I've played DF and Arena, but the 2hr dungeons are too much for me to do on a daily basis. I do find Skyrim to be vastly superior to Oblivion so far, though the quest mods in Oblivion are the best around. Heck, I find them even better than MW's, imo.

Technically, the first one I played was Arena. I only played that for one or two days or so, however, then switched back to Civilization and Centurion: Defender of Rome. The first TES game I really played was Morrowind, which is also the only TES game I have made mods for.
