Is Skyrim your first TES game?

Post » Mon Feb 16, 2015 9:29 pm

Well. No in My Mind. Yes in some other people's minds.

I played morrowind first. But all i did was get to Balmora and walk around the city.
I Played Oblivion After that. But all I did was get to Bruma, Find alittle hotel, and Join the Brighters Guild c: (Brighters Guild Yes. c:)

And then

I played Skyrim the Most, And Longest, And then Decided to Finish Oblivion. Played Skyrim More. Decided to play Morrowind. and then Play Skyrim more.

So. In my Mind. Morrowind was my first.

No, my first elder scrolls was Morrowind, interestingly it was some what through graphic, I never was interested in graphics, and I was pretty young when I first bouth Morrowind, but I remember I bought it because when I once saw it shop i rememberd that my older brother once commented how realistic thouse water look there ( yeah , I know ), this pretty much hooked me so when Oblivion came out I bought it two weeks after the relese, if I rememberd correctly, than I played Arena , and Daggerfall ( I complited Arena and it was even quite enjoyable I would really like if there were more shout outs to this game in recent TES , daggerfall ugggh let's not talk about it, I love story, i love many things from this game but I cant't simply complited it is soo annoying to play it)
At that moment I was pretty much hooked so I bought Skyrim day after premire in shops( my only mistake is that I bought it on PS 3 )

No. I've been playing since 1994 with ARENA being the first. I also was playing TERMINATOR RAMPAGE for a few years previously on my brother inlaws pc before i switched over from the Commodore Amiga 500 getting into the whole explore a huge world design of Bethesda games.

Definitely has been an enriching quality of life hobby with Bethesda being the consistent main reason.

Daggerfall was the first one I played. I saw it on a shelf at Wal-Mart and after reading about it on the back of the box, decided to pick it up. Since then.......

1. TES: Daggerfall.
2. TES Legends: Battlespire.
3. TES: Morrowind.
4. TES: Oblivion.
5. TES: Arena.
6. TES: Skyrim.

Skyrim's my first TES game. About a year ago, just before the release, my bf showed me a trailer and suggested that we buy it. We did and never regretted :)

I would imagine that the online forums are a little bit biased in this regard to begin with. Most of the people that are on these boards are fans of the series, and not just players of any one particular game. So I suspect you will find an unusually high number of forum members that have played at least one other game, and follow the series.

New Skyrim players are less likely to be here, unless they have become fans of the series and are now waiting on TES VI.

Started with Daggerfall, loved it.
Didn't like Morrowind.
Oblivion was okay.
Currently loving Skyrim with over 300 hours played.

Yes, although not until nearly two months after it came out. After realising what I'd been missing I bought every Bethesda game from Morrowind onwards. Morrowind I thought was also incredible. Oblivion was alright, if dull to explore and Daggerfall I'm trying to run through an emulator.

Yes skyrim is my first ES game. Before I played skyrim, I borrowed FO3 from a friend, and I really enjoyed it. I now actually own Oblivion, but I've played it a small amount compared to skyrim. All my time in Oblivion has been in the Shivering Isles.

I played some Arena of a friend′s PC but mine was too crappy to play it. A few years latter I go a new PC and my mom was going to the States for the holidays so I gave her an old Arena add and asked to show this at a gamestore. She came back with Daggerfall and I was hooked...till all the bugs and crashes that made me replay the game like 5 times got to me so I decided to play them Inifnifty engine games and consoles... A few years later after finishing college my father gave me some money for a trip to Europe and I decided to save some for buying a gaming PC...Morrowind had just come out and to this day the game is still on all my Gaming PCs
I had a long stay at a hospital recently so I have been replaying Daggerfall and its even better and harder that I remembered

Yup...in fact, I don't even know what TES means! LOL. I'm 53 years old. I introduced my son to computers when he was 9. He's been a big gamer ever since and has tried to convince me for YEARS (he's 28 now!) to giving gaming a try. Finally, YESTERDAY, I ventured in to Skyrim. I'm totally blown away! I can't believe what I have been missing all these years. I can't wait to dig in!
Cheers.

Nope, Morrowind was my first. Although I only bought it because I saw previews for Oblivion coming out, got super excited, and was like "Hey, better start with the previous game." The differences were vast but I loved the series after I actually started getting into MW, its combat systems and lore. I've tried playing Arena but I can't get into it and am waiting on Daggerfall until after Arena (but this is unlikely to ever happen.)

Oblivion was my First Bethesda game, then I bought Morrowind, but couldn't get into the clunky combat and abandoned it after a few weeks playing it. I bought Skyrim, in the hopes that it Beth would've learned something from previous games, which they did, but also made more than enough mistakes to make up for what they learned previously.

Skyrim will be the last TES game I buy at launch, and possibly the last TES game I buy period if the next one disappoints as much as this one has. I'm still hoping they don't butcher Fallout 4 anymore than some it's fans claim they have, if they do, it may be the last Bethesda game I buy at all. I mean seriously, how much disappointment are we (meaning me) supposed to take before we say enough is enough.

I'm actually surprised as to how many played Morrowind first. I assumed that TES got most of it's playerbase from Oblivion. Thanks for the input guys.

Yes. Merci beaucoup, Skyrim, for getting me into this dear and wonderful series.
After that I played Oblivion, and a bit after, Morrowind.

Arena was the first, almost 20 years ago. Jeez, I'm old. I've never played Redguard though.

Oblivion on the PS3 was my first TES game. I had already known of Morrowind, though. People on the complaints board of Deviantart used to constantly rave about how the game was so hard. I just bought Oblivion because it was made by the same people who made Fallout 3. Turns out, the TES series was more for me.
