OoT will always be# 1 for me. It defined an era and will always be part of me. Skyrim will hopefully be next right after OoT.

Okay, well I suppose it's a bit less lush, but Nordic style is pretty close to traditional European fantasy style anyway. I mean the shots of Riverwood look like it could fit easily in Oblivion, for example. And Riften looks pretty lush/peaceful sort of place with fairly similar to Oblivion style architecture. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_4lrm97dBqNo/TUFlf8E0PZI/AAAAAAAAAYM/zpU1C-tvpWw/s1600/artofskyrim_004_town.jpg

Meh, I guess. It's hard to judge really until i'm actually in the game.

I hope i'm wrong anyway. Nothing would please me more than for it to break into my top 5.

2. Planescape: Torment
3. Gothic 1
4. Gothic 2 Notr
5. The Witcher 1 EE

I doubt Skyrim can make it into my top 5, but being in my top 10-15 is still something.

Yup. It will probably be my favorite game. Currently, even though I have stopped playing it, if I had to pick only one game that I could play for the rest of my life, it would be Oblivion. I bet once it's released, it will undoubtebly be Skyrim.

Top Five 'eh? That's a toughy... I think I'll go by how memorable they've been, or are going to be, for me. (And yes, a lot of them hold tied posistions, but hey, they're in the same series.)

1. - Skyrim / The Elder Scrolls
2. - Drakengard / Drakengard 2 (Fantastic games in my opinion.)
3. - Fallout 3 / New Vegas
4. - Jak & Daxter, loved those guys, haha.
5. - Warcraft I, II, III, and World of Warcraft and its consecutive expansions. (Except Cataclysm, Cataclysm is pissing me off.)

Of those, I'd love to see the Drakengard duo revived and continued. Along with Jak & Daxter. An' I'm hoping to see a Warcraft IV.

It's to be expected from a developer that's known to put out fantastic games.

Until I am sure that the game is no good then Skyrim is already on my top 5. Right after Oblivion and Morrowind tied for second.

How can you cap how high a game can rate in your list before playing it??

Setting plays a huge part for me when it comes to games. Morrowind is probably a better game than Oblivion overall, but I prefer Oblivion because of the setting. The lush green forests and traditional medieval-style fantasy appeal to me a lot.

Skyrim will be diverse, but i'm really not convinced the setting will appeal to me at all.

Really? Morrowind still is a better game then Oblivion but I agree with you I liked Oblivion's setting and renaissance fair type game, but when compared to Skyrim, in my opinion Oblivion looks really generic and all it really had is lush green forest and a few grasslands with the same generated landscapes that got old really fast and most of the monsters and creatures encounterd were really weak. Skyrim on the other hand has rough pine forests, fall forests, grassy tundras, volcanic tundras, icey and snowy glaciers and craggy rocks, ect. Also for you to say Skyrim is not in your top 5 becuase of the scenery is madness, Skyrim has every thing and improved things that Oblivion did not have, Skyrim looks like so far to outmatch the 5 year old generic Oblivion. :D

It's a prediction, of course. This whole thread is asking for a prediction as no one played Skyrim yet.
The reason why I think my top 3 is locked forever is because those 3 games were more than games for me. They are cult, I have a story for how I got to play each of them and they shaped my gamer profile more than the ones that followed. It's a lot of personal reasons there that I won't comment on.

It's honestly really hard to say whether i'll prefer Skyrim to Oblivion yet. I was just making a prediction based on what i've seen so far.

Perhaps I was being a bit too stubborn in my prediction... so i'll say this instead: it has every possibility of breaking into my top 5, but the top 2 are pretty much untouchable.
