She should belong in jail. Instead of killing her, you should be able to report her and have her in irons. I personally have no problem offing her, but if I'm playing a pure of heart Paladin, I should be able to handle it without cutting her head off.
If you are playing a pure of heart paladin then perhaps joining the Dark Brotherhood isn't the best RP path for your character.
The combat is definitely in need of a huge overhaul. It's pretty boring, and doesn't require any skill from the player.
TES combat needs to catch up to other games
And I thought some of the guild questlines were much too linear. Throwing in optional radiant quests doesn't really flesh out a guild like I think they were hoping.
Yes, but Aventus ran away because she was bad and now wants you to kill her. You should be able to have Grelod arrested, with I think her name is Constance, run it instead and reform the orphanage, with Aventus returning now that its better, and then you should then be able to destroy the DB.
Bugs.
Intentional flaws, though? As many have said, storylines and quests. Goddammit, the Thalmor may be ultimate baddies, but me playing my Altmer or Dunmer mages shouldn't even be approached about freeing or helping elf-hating Stormfron...I mean Stormcloak rebels. And yeah, being able to become guild master of everything seems crazy. I do support being able to involve oneself in all guild quests, but essentially being "The Chosen" for everything and everyone actually started feeling a little dull.
It would be awesome if you could have Grelod arrested, but only if it didn't have anything to do with joining the DB. Sithis demands souls, not arrest records.
Lack of dialogue options. Seriously, how hard is it to simply insert 3 or 4 options into character interactions with NPCs. Look at Fallout games, you have mutliple dialogue options consistently, the option to do quests in multiple different ways, and the options to achieve goals through different ways. There is absolutely no reason we should not have that in the Elder Scrolls. I don't want to be a one-size-fits-all character - I want to roleplay.
Because Bethesda Softworks wanted to sell The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim to a mass market Bethesda Game Studios didn't add a lot of stuff or cut out "good" content to sell The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim to more people. It's the sad state the video game industry is in today to sell more copies of video games instead of adding more "good" content, etc.
No. Leave repair hammers out of it. By all means put armour and weapons degradation back in, but not those blasted things.
I want repair hammers back lol. I want to go to a anvil and put my armor on the anvil and pound out dents just like you would in real life .
I love the combat except for the kill cam. It would be nice to turn that off.
Biggest flaw for me is the lack of life in towns and the npc's
I'm on PC and have access to all the armor/weapon mods that I want, but it would be really cool if you could change the color of vanilla gear through the use of paint or something similar. This would add some much needed variety to the enemies you fight.
Lack of Nordic culture; we should be seeing badass vikings, not people who tell you that they work for Belethor at the General good store. I mean where are all the mead houses? I think Jorvaskr is the only one in the entire game.
Nords should be harsh and gritty people, who don't take crap from anyone.
Oh yah, and Skyrim needs more snow.
Yeah Skyrim definitely didn't feel cold enough to me. Butterflies surviving on the "tundra" doesn't inspire the feel of bone-chilling winds.
Choices need to effect the rest of the game more, not like The Walking Dead level stuff, but somewhat more. And some of the quest lines need to advance slower than they currently do.
I mentioned that in another thread. Your character in the Fallout games was much more alive and had such a large variety in dialogue options to shape some actual character into your character and some personality. Make them feel more alive. It's one thing I see that TES has always lacked in all of its games besides a few moments (ex: talking to Lucien Lachance, talking to Dagoth Ur, etc.). The dialogue for the player character is lacking, and it seems that in order to have some actual depth in this game, you have to "imagine" it.
