Skyrims biggest flaw.

Blocky shadows.

Here's a vanilla comparison between Oblivion and Skyrim in shadows.

Nice and smooth.

The factions for me also. If those were just redone and well written Skyrim would have been so much better. It's a great sandbox to play in, but it's not a believable sandbox.

I could almost forgive the sub-par writing, but the poor quality of quest design isn't so forgivable. Neither is the continued oversimplification of the game as a whole.

No man, I can't quite put my finger on just one thing and say "yes, that right there is Skyrim's greatest flaw." There just too many missteps that have been made for me to say that.

Here's hoping Beth really takes their time next time and gets it right. (hopefully the lack of news on Fallout 4 is a positive sign this may be happening)

or maybe not.

You may not agree with the whole of my list...

  • Quests are a bit shallow.
  • Glitches and bugs can ruin your gaming experience.
  • Lack of core RPG elements like attributes and skills.
  • Not being able to use spells with certain weapons. I can understand destruction with two handers or bows, it would be too OP, but defensive spells would've been alright.
  • speech is useless.
  • No good or bad "karma" system.
  • I think the landscape is kind of unimaginative. It looks really nice but it's a bit too Earth like.
  • Character dialogue options are unrealistic.

That's pretty much it.

About 90% of the game, combat, depth, freedom, quest involvement, bugs, etc. Those are the flaws of Skyrim.

For me Skyrim's biggest flaw was its lack of character creation and development options. The lack of classes, of Attributes, Birthsigns, the removal of Fame and Infamy and meaningful Disposition, the fact that all characters begin each game as nearly-identical tabula rasas was, to me, Skyrim's biggest flaw.

In my opinion, I think that they should of taken more time testing the game... I know it took 3 years but I would wait a year more just to play a even better game with "no" bugs!

ANd they should of implenting more options on the questline, like for example, if I wanted to help the dragons and not the humans? Sometthing to think about...

The biggest, and most critical, flaw in the game is the leveling system.

I can deal with bugs, glitches, and issues where quests can't be completed, but when I can one shot a Legendary dragon, there is something seriously wrong with the game.

I agree with the linear quest design. It makes me lose interest way too soon, which is quite sad, considering the work that has come into the game. The UI design can somewhat be fixed by mods ...
