Skyrims Bow's

Post » Mon Sep 26, 2011 12:30 pm

Me personally I think it looks kind of flimsy, well they only showed one bow that is probably the basic bow you start out with and that bow looks flimsy has no character in it and the arrow just lays on the wood it has no thing for the arrow to lay on to shoot.

But again it's probably the basic bow I hope they have better ones that have cool designs and actually make you feel like a real archer.

Watch this video of Todd Howard playing a part of the game in a dungeon I think, and look at the bow cause if all the bows are like that I probably am never going to use a bow in the game.

I saw a scan with a guy using a conjured bow and it looked awesome, it was bright blue and see through, with alot of shape and had kind of claws on the end with a glowing aura. I also read a review from someone at eurogamer and he said the elven bows looked gorgeous. So i have high hopes in this game, in Oblivion they more or less looked the same, but I think they have put alot more detail into Skyrim

if you watched closely, the bow is on a slight tilt, while the arrow rests against his hand (and FYI most old age bows were like this)

It is also probably made out of a stronger type of wood (like Oak) meaning more draw strength required even though it looks flimsy itself.

this was also the case in Oblivion and Morrowind, in relation to how the arrow rests and plain wooden bows.

Wow that sounds amazing I'm stoked for this game and I really hope I see some amazing bows in the game to I really wanna hunt and arch in Skyrim, And one cool thing would be if there is houses in the middle of no where you could buy like a cabin or something where I could store a lot of my hunting gear so I could just go there and hunt.

Aw, well isn't that unfortunate? I think you should play the game first, though, before saying no to a feature you might actually like. To be honest, Oblivion blows are flimsy... Skyrim bows clearly have some weight to them.

agreed. I think that you are way off here and your opinion isn't a good one. I know, sounds harsh.. but I think you are nitpicking and you don't have anything to back it up. The video didn't show a "flimsy" bow to me.

Like any other weapon in the TES series, there is a huge variety in visuals.

Trust me OP, that isn't the only bow available to you. Expect variations like Elven, Daedric, Ebony, etc.
