Skyrims MQ Ending ? What now ?

Post » Sun Mar 02, 2014 9:23 am

Did I just finish the main quest ? I have fullfilled my destiny as Dragonborn . I have been playing scince New Years and have had a lot of fun, but ? Where's my ending ?Is there a seperate quest to find one ?
Should I have done the side quests before finishing the MQ ? Is it any fun to play the DLCs and some of the side quests at this point or should I start again ?
What did you think of the " ending " ? I thought it interesting that it didn't end and life goes on but I like rewards even if it's just cheesy cut screens. I like closure.
I liked Skyrim alot and will play it again with no end in sight.

The ending wasn't all that great. If you haven't done any DLC content, then there's your next adventure.

There's no credit roll at the end of the mq if that's what you mean. I'd suggest doing DLCs, continue the adventure of your Dovahkiin.

I thought it was pretty good, made me feel like a fully-realized Dovahkiin, and I pondered many of Arngeir's endgame words.

There is no ending. Skyrim is timeless.

I've been playing Elder Scrolls games for years now, so I expected this before I even bought the game. Myself, I hate "cutscenes" and closure. The open-ended-ness of the Elder Scrolls games is why I play them and no other games.

That said, it can create a problem with what to do after the main quest has finished. I still remember the feeling of "What do I do now?" the first time I finished Morrowind's main quest. I joined the Imperial Legion. But after defeating Dagoth Ur and saving Vvardenfell it seemed kind of wrong to be taking orders and running errands for some mid-level military bureaucrat.

I ended up making a new character. Which is what I did when I finished Oblivion's main quest and Skyrim's main quest, too.

Your reward for all of your hard work and effort put into fetch quest is Paarthurnax congratulating you and no one acknowledging you or the actual threat of the dragons the entire time spent on the underwhelming main questline.
